I recently read this incredibly informative and powerful book by Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Hirsi Ali is a remarkable woman who has overcome incredible cultural obstacles. I strongly recommend reading her fascinating story.

        • Also one of my favorites, although I would never call it uplifting reading.  It is a piece of non-fiction that casts a really bad pallor on muslims and for good reason—according to the author.

I really liked it a lot and you are right, she herself is very inspiring.  It sure raises a lot of questions and outrage, while a book like Three Cups of Tea seems to give us answers to that outrage.
