      hello ladies,

      just another recommendation:
      [Link Removed]

i became aware of this site april ‘08 when they sent out the notice to begin the challenge for mothers’ day.  i’ve been a member ever since, but lately have been lagging.  i thought if i passed the information on and others became not only aware of it, but began to use it, my flagging participation may again be sparked.

it is simply an online tracking log of your activities.  it gives you the option of tracking steps from simply walking or converting other activities into steps for consistency of tracking your energy expenditure.  you set your own goals and chart your own progress.  it also gives you incentives and periodic opportunities for bonuses.

i’ll admit it was more fun during the warmer months when i had more options for activities, but now that i’m somewhat in “hibernation mode” i need support.

check it out!  some of you might even be interested in forming teams for friendly competition!

        • This is a great idea - I know in the UK a huge motivation every New Year is women getting fit to run/ walk in the Race for Life [Link Removed] it’s a 5K run/ walk for breast cancer and thousands of women participate all over the Uk and it raises not just awareness but millions of pounds ...... you often get three generations involved I’ve done it since 2000 when my friend who was dying of breast cancer forced me .......so from the 5th I jog/ walk briskly round my local park building my speed up as I prepare for the race ..
I can’t tell you what a motivation it is plus the emotions on the day all women together for one great cause.

        • A great tool for keeping track of food and exercise is the software (I use the software, not the subscription) from [Link Removed] It has an extensive database and it can be kind of fun seeing how that snack can impact your calorie intake for the day. They have a seven day free trial so you can play with it before buying it. It was $45 when I bought it and it has really helped me keep on track
