      Kid’s Week, Pt. 3

1Tim. 4:14 ΒΆ Do not neglect the spiritual gift you received through the
prophecies spoken to you when the elders of the church laid their hands on
      you.

A child is like a sponge! They absorb all kinds of things. What they see and
hear, they soak up and retain. So, when you are around them, why not allow
them to soak up your relationship with God. I’m not saying speak to them on
an adult “religious” level, but i’m saying that you should pray with and
for them. Lay hands on them, even while they sleep. Speak life into them. We
have missed a very important job that we have as parents, guardians,
godparents, etc. It’s our duty to speak life into the youth of this
generation. You see, the music they listen to speaks foul prophecies on them
(i’m a thug, murder, death, sex, drugs, etc). The movies they watch expose
them at an early age to sex, nudity, violence, etc. And many times, they go
home to an abusive or absent father. A mother with her own issues,
neglectful, trying to find herself after she has been dogged around. So,
it’s up to the true believers to lay hands on them and speak against all the
negativity that they are dealing with. The gifts from God need to be spoken
      upon these children!

I’ll never forget when i was a child, around 8 years old, that a man came to
my church, laid hands on me and spoke the gift of ministering upon my life.
After that, every evangelist that came to town would confirm it by saying
and doing the same thing. No matter what i went through, or how hard things
got for me, i always remembered the gift that was spoken upon my life and it
brought me here, where i am today. It’s so important for us to speak life
into our youth. It will change the course of their lives and save them from
      early destruction.
