It was set up to build up. This is so awesome to me. The Bible explains to us that the body of Christ is to be one. The body of Christ is made up of all believers; filled with one Spirit, and Jesus Christ is our Head. We are to receive our instructions from the Head. Each part of this body has a specific function, just as our natural body has many parts with different functions. If we were to function as one body with one head; we would accomplish greatness for the kingdom of God. If we were to look at each person as a necessary part of this body; if we valued each part's gift and purpose in the body, then we would all move together in harmony, like our natural bodies were made to do.

What would happen if we operated as instructed in Ephesians? "....we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work." (Eph 4:15-16 NIV)

What is the significance of this? The importance of this is that the Word is telling us to come together in love; being one body, with one Spirit and having one Head. In doing this we are receiving direction and instructions that cause us to be on one accord with the same purpose and the same focus; doing the same work, which builds us in to Him (Christ).

The people in Genesis chapter 11 were trying to build a tower to reach up to God. And God said that as long as they were on one accord and speaking the same language they could do anything. So God confused their language; and they scattered.  If they could build a tower to reach the heavens, in the natural; what more could the body of Christ accomplish if we were on one accord; with the same mission (to glorify God)?  If we were on one accord; not competing but cooperating, we would accomplish great things. If we would stop tearing each other down, and start building each other up, we would grow higher in Christ. But when we begin to do our own thing, we become like the people who tried to build the tower of Babel (their conversation became confused; they were no longer together; they scattered and the work ceased.

That is what happens when the body of Christ is in confusion; it separates, and the work is hindered and slowed down. There are so many denominations; so many separate agendas... can we just come together for the cause of preaching Christ? After all, that's what the Gospel is all abut. It's not about us; its not competition from one ministry to the other. It's not about who is doing more and who is doing better. It's about Christ!

Confusion causes us to be scattered and it causes the work to go undone. Souls are dying and going to hell, because the body of Christ is disconnected in our function and we are not following the instructions of the Head.

Let's stop babbling and let's come together.
