      CRANBERRY HONEY LIP GLOSS

Cranberries are a rich source of vitamin C and are an antiseptic, making it a great active ingredient to protect the lips from the sun. In this recipe, honey will be used as a natural humectant. The sweetness will also give a pleasant smell and flavor to this lip gloss. Almond oil is used to soften and sooth your lips and vitamin E helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines.

      1 tablespoon sweet almond oil
      10 fresh cranberries
      1 teaspoon honey
      1 drop vitamin E oil

      1. Mix all the ingredients together in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for two minutes or until the mixture just begins to boil.
      2. Stir well and gently crush the berries.
      3. Cool mixture for five minutes and then strain through a fine sieve to remove all the cranberry pieces.
      4. Stir again and set aside to cool completely.
      5. When cool, transfer into a small portable plastic container or tin.

        • Wow! I am loving this recipe. I have the smallest and most pruney looking lips on the planet! I’m going to try this as soon as cranberries come into my store.

Do you have anything I can do as a lip plumper?

          Thanks!

        • ORANGE LIP BALM

          1 teaspoon of cocoa butter

          1 teaspoon of shea butter

          1 teaspoon of almond oil

a little of vitamin E oil

15 drops of sweet orange essential oil (or really any smelly and flavored oil)

Melt together, pour into a empty tin or case, set in a refrigerator. Sounds easy right? And once you have those ingredients, you can make it over and over again. Man, I am going to save so much money!

        • Oh, my goodness, I’m so glad I found this group.  I thought I was the only nut who made her own lip balm and lip gloss.  These recipes all sound way yummier than any I’ve done before.

        • Well, my lipbalm recipe is pretty basic.  It came about during a cold dry winter when I finally realized I am allergic to any petroleum products.

          Winter Care Lip Balm

          1 part beeswax
          1 part olive oil
1 part moisturizer more solid than olive oil and less solid than beeswax. I’ve used everything from organic lard to cocobutter.
          Fresh aloe if available.

My last boss was whining about his finger tips cracking in winter (he’s from the south, not used to these things that come with cold winters).  I told him to rub some of this stuff into the cracks, and his fingers were healed in a week.

Melt beeswax and stir in other ingredients, stir as it cools to keep it emulsified.  While still somewhat pourable, pour into small tins.

        • Oh goodness ladies! I absolutely love the thought of making my own lip balm.  I make many things with natural fabrics cause of the way it feels on my skin. This is another natural source for me to use for self improvement.  I’ll try and concoct something and see how it turns out.  If it’s good I’ll share
          Thanks

These glosses sound fantastic and as soon as I figure out where to find certain ingrediants. I can make them too.

          Ciao

        • bella40anddolci- I found this online for you. Hope it helps!

          Use Ice

Ice is a very good home remedy for cold sores. Rub ice on the infected skin for few minutes, repeat this every hour.
          Use Tea Bag

Apply a tea bag for few minutes on the blisters, repeat this every hour. One can also consider pressing a warm tea bag on the blisters for approximately 30 minutes.
          Other Remedies

Applying Witch Hazel on sores will give you some relief. Dip your moist index finger in powdered common salt and press the sore for 30 seconds using this index finger. Gently rub aloe vera gel or oil on the sores. Lemon balm extract helps to reduce symptoms and speeds up healing. Those having weak immune system will take more time to recover and may face more severe consequences.
