I lost 50 pounds last year. One of our members suggestion using SparkPeople.com and their tools for weight loss. I kept it in the back of my mind for a long time and finally used their tools to lose weight the beginning of 2011.
Fast forward to this last semester. The stress, the lack of exercise, not paying attention to what I was eating, I gained back 10 pounds. Morning after morning I would tell myself to get on the treadmill but studying for exams took priority.
Now that the semester is over, I’m back to my usual routine -the one that took the weight off in the first place. I already feel better and know I’m not as stressed as I was.
Sparkpeople is great for weight loss tools as is online programs like the one weight watchers has. I use their nutrition trackers and print my daily food journal so I can see what I’m doing and stay on track. I’m sure the weight will be gone like it was before but the trick will be to keep it off when the fall semester starts.
I want to add that I had gotten caught up in all the social networking and groups one can join on that site. Between here and there, I overdid it with the time spent online. I’ve redone my profile over there and I’m not socializing there at all. I keep my social networking mostly over here and just a wee bit on facebook to stay in touch with my high school classmates.
Its so hard to keep the weight off. I can work hard and lose it, but eventually I go back to bad habits and it comes right back, and fast.
I am in the same boat..lost eight pounds in the last two months, which is good, but my goal is another ten..will check out the SparkPeople.com.
Same here. I had lost 7 this month, then somehow gained back 4 in last week.
Me too, I gained back 6 lbs throughout the last several months. It shows too, clothing doesn’t fit well.
I’ve been telling myself to get back on track and I do for a couple of days, then bad habits continue. I hope to get back on track like you, Cynthia.
amazing what we let stress do to us. Our DD did the hcg diet and lost 50 pounds. then, she went on a cruise. I prayed that that wasn’t the end of her hard fought and won efforts.
I’m not asking, but w/o doing so she’d update not only me, but all of FB reporting on her loss-since the cruise she hasn’t said a single word. Plus-now she and sil went to FLA to spend a week w/ the kids of WDW.
still praying she does what you did Cynthia and get back into her routine before things scale back to where she started.
Our age and impending menopause can definitely be a factor in how we carry extra pounds as well. It’s pretty frustrating. Even at the 50 pound loss, my waist wasn’t nearly as small as it was when I was younger.
Carine, I don’t want to be preachy but I want to say that the sooner she stops that diet and establishes a sustainable eating plan that promotes heal, the better. That diet is not good. And like with any “diet” there’s a beginning and an end but when all is said and done, anyone losing weight on a diet eventually has to find a way to sustain that weight loss and be healthy.
HGC is a gonadotropin hormone. The word “tropin” means that it stimulates hormone production somewhere within the endocrine system. The gonads produce hormones that are specific for fertility and secondary sexual characteristics. This is a gimmick - what actually works on this diet is the severe calorie restrictions; consuming only 500-800 calories.
I know I need to get back on track. I keep thinking that I finally have my job down on a routine and then something new develops.
So I have been mall walking on my lunch when I can’t do a regular workout. And I have been trying to keep good snacks in the fridge at work.
Still a work in progress.........
