I have to come to realise tow big things with my problem losing weight.

First  is I can't follow a set rigid diet like Weight Watchers as I have to eat out too many times in the week it turns eating in to a nightmare and I just then chuck the towel in and eat everything and the pounds pile on.

Second  I now have a more sedentary lifestyle I spend more time behind the laptop than running round like I did before and I eat way to many carbohydrates – carbohydrates are the enemy of women over 40.

Up to aged 42 I was a trim size twelve ate what I wanted and never had a problem – if I felt a bit chubby or noticed something was tight I cut back for a few days and puff the weight vanished – now nothing just pile on the pounds.
So I have decided there is a whole food group that's the enemy – well not exactly some carbs are actually good and if eaten help with weight loss.

So for the last two weeks I have been following a great book "Low- carb meals in minutes"  it's a three stage plan for permanent weight loss – yes I have lost some weight – I don't feel puffy and also I'm not having that dip mid afternoon which has me reaching for the biscuits, cakes or snacks as they are quick and easy.

Plus by knowing that white bread, pasta, potatoes are evil and make me chubby I now just cut them out – I'm adding pulses to my diet.

Now when I eat out I ask for NO POTATOES and instead I have an extra dish of vegetables – plus I'm having a starter not a pudding/ desert ......

It's not rocket science and having these easy menu's helps as I now plan ahead and we have the food in and because they only take minutes to make I'm not reaching for the easy option fattening snack.

Plus I will say this is the first recipe book / diet aide book where I have not had to invest in loads of strange / weird ingredients' or eat food I would never normally eat ......... all in the name of losing weight.

I highly recommend Linda Gassenheimer  books.
