Hi everyone! I am trying to coordinate a full course holiday meal in a tiny kitchen...I could use any make ahead recipes you may have to ease the traffic in there! Particularly soups, relishes or pies that my daughter can prep a day or so ahead as her contribution.
Thanks!
Almost everything can be done ahead of time. Cook the turkey tomorrow. Take it off the bones and put it in a big casserole dish in the frig, that way on thursday you just have to reheat which will take approximately the same amount of time as baking the sweet potatoes.
Pumpkin pie can be made as soon as Tuesday. Pecan pie you could do any time. Other fruit pies would be best done on Wednesday.
make the mashed potatoes early in the day, put them in a crock pot on low and put them somewhere out of the way. Gravy also can be made ahead and just reheated or put in a crock pot.
Tulip
Tulip, love the mashed potato in the crock pot tip, Im going to do that instead of last minute, thanks!!
If you put plenty of sour cream, milk and maybe even a little chicken stock in your mashed potatoes, you can make them a couple days ahead of time.
