My reason for staring this group is two fold:

      1.  VENT: (quasi) a loving husband that tries to fix EVERYTHING.

      2.  Believe a female-friendly place to give and receive support is important (especially for women who may not have female friends in real life to provide this avenue).

I can easily laugh and cry with you, so please feel free to share.

      VENT, CELEBRATE, DISCUSS

VENT:  honey, I’m nearly 50 and will do/fix it on my time. Please don’t try to control my stuff on your terms.

CELEBRATE: a sense of humor and shared laughter between me and spouse (see below).

DISCUSS: What little things does your hubby do to show you he cares? (mine tries to fix everything, LOL)

      Caution - Humor Ahead

ME: Hey check out my new Wedding Veils business cards. I think they turned out really nice. My only problem (disappointment) is that the font is too small. I can’t read them.

      HUBBY: looks at card...silence

ME: What do you think? Isn’t the font too small?

HUBBY: hmmmm I think they‘re fine.

ME: You mean YOU can read the print? (he’s 64, I’m almost 50).

HUBBY: Yes I can read it, but I don’t think you have to worry because most of the brides will be young enough that they will be able to read the print.

      ME: ROFL!!!!

Aside: That struck me funny and endearing because he was trying to carefully choose his words to let me know that it was my eyes and that my clients wouldn't have the same problem because they have young eyes.

        • Lol! That is funnyestatic

All I can say today is that my hubz works really hard and tries to make things nice so I don’t have to work. If I choose too he will reluctantly help out around the house (or yell at the 20 something kids till it’s done).

          No venting todayheart

        • That’s too cute about the business cards.  My hubby would have been much more blunt.

The man will be home from work in a few minutes.
          I’ll say, “You hungry?”
          He will say, “No.”
Me, who is starving, “You want supper.”
          Him “Maybe later.”
          Me, “Well, I’m eating now.”
I’ll no more than get sat down with my plate of food and he will look at it and decide he’s hungry after all.

Some nights it aggravates me and some nights it amuses me.  It’s always predictable.

        • I love the photo, Maria. Really cute.

At the moment it’s a little more vent than anything. I’m feeling pretty unapreciated right now. 3rd day in a row I had plans and my stepdaughter was sound asleep - happens when you entertain a male friend until 3:30 AM night after night. Our granddaughter comes over bored and hungry and we’ve got her all day while sleeping beauty saws logs.

        • Stepson’s girlfriend had a baby Monday.  He isn’t the dad but expects us to be totally thrilled.

VENT: SS calls every day to vent to hubby who vents to me.
Hubby wants me to be totally on his side but I want us to be in support of son as they work through this.  don’t want to hear 5 years later we weren’t there.

TL - my hubby does the same thing.  Won’t eat until I start then hints he doesn’t want the same thing and will I make something else.

Sometimes women just need an ear to listen, a place to vent, or get support.
