Both worked in my parish as a child.  I can’t forget either of them.  They were such good friends...

        • omg...
they and any priest involved in this should be in prison for a very very long time. As should any kind of person that does this.

I know a former priest who left the priesthood after turning 2 fellow priests in. He could no longer take the hypocrisy of the catholic church. He had been a priest for 21 years.

sending hugs to you across the pond!

        • I am shameful of some of the things my church (R.C.) had and have done.
Throughout the history, there were corruptions, religious warfare, abuse of power, much more and to child molester.
Satan likes to attack all, more to God’s servants and people.
Yet our human weaknesses craved in and it is difficult to forgive and forget -
The physical, emotional and spiritual damages are too big to handle.
I feel the pain from the victims and their families
I do value the teachings and more within the Catholic church.
I will even pray harder, to the clergies as well as lay people
God never wants us to hurt each other and may He continue pours out His grace and strength,
          for us to overcome evil.

May you all find His love and peace.

Signed with Sadness, Distress and holding tight onto my faith,

          Chinadoll +++

        • Well my problem is that in this church it seems that you can do this, yet be forgiven?

To me it is as if ‘go ahead, do bad things, say a few hail marys and poof your forgiven‘.

I think, for me, this is why I choose to be spiritual more so than religious. These types of crimes, deserve no forgiveness! If, in fact, there is a hell...this is where they belong! IMHO

        • A few Hail Marys are just a touch and a beginning of a long spiritual healing process.  Much more are required in many areas.  Please accept my sincere apology from the church I faithfully belong.

        • CD/dulwichmom, i’m not catholic, but i grew up in the catholic culture and can only imagine the pain that the “exposed” events have caused.  as a sister to you other women of GOD, i can only pray with and for you as you do battle against the arrows and bombs the enemy has launched into your camp.  CD, holding onto your faith is a BIG slap in the face of the enemy, GOOD FOR YOU!  continue to serve the GOD of your salvation ever the more heartily, and get to dance on the devil’s head on that great day when we see JESUS face to face!

mztracy, don’t let one small segment of GOD’s kingdom turn you off.  i understand more than you might know how one person or group can cause you to be angry at GOD or HIS people.  GOD does ask us to forgive, but HE also says that when someone does something wrong, we are to correct them openly so that others will fear (see 1 Timothy 5:20).  i would love to condemn the catholic church, but that would be doing what i’m saying not to do—condemning a group for the actions of a few tainted individuals; also that’s not my right, and that would not show the forgiveness on my part that i have been taught to show.

          just my humble input...

        • Chinadoll...you need not apologise for anyone. In every religion, etc there are good and bad. Sadly we never want to believe that in the church this bad would ever happen.

The priest, my friend, mentioned before, said it was disgusting how when these things would happen it was always ‘hushed’ up. At the worst all that happened was they would lose their priesthood. For a long time he kept quiet, became a serious alcoholic, then said enough and turned the disgusting pedophiles in. He then left the church. Can you imagine after 21 years how much courage that took. It was his life.

Chindoll, you my dear are one of the good...with you change may occur and one day these disgusting acts may be stopped. Anytime bad happens, we need the good, people like you, to stop it!!

I just do not understand how so many can say this does not happen. It amazes me the ignorance of some.

People it happens, and it happens way too much. Wake up and stop this...listen to the children, believe in them and save them!!!

        • I don’t feel offended, rather I feel bad and wish I could do something.  Yet also feel like I need to defend for good ones are still there.  I know for sure, devil likes to attack priests for they are the only one who can consecrate hosts and hear confession and do other sacraments for the church.  Still, can’t blame it all on the devils.. I hope you understand.  I feel hesitated to post for I know you all need to vent.... I am troubled.

Sadly too many use the ‘devil’ as their excuse to do bad. When in fact, they themselves are the only devil!

        • Well not everyone believes in the same God. I have my higer power. Is it the same as another, some yes, some no.

But that does make my God wrong or different. I agree that one bad apple spoils the rest.

This group is to be about those recovering from this church, ie: not being this anymore.

I think here is where they discuss the problems and the whys they no longer are a part of it. Not to come in and talk about how wonderful it is.

My hubz is a recovering addict/alcoholic...ie he no longer does those things.

I have no problem discussing beliefs, just make sure that those discussing realize theirs is not the only belief that is the right belief.

I will never be religious again, but will always be spiritual. I pray, I hope, and I am a good person. For me, my God is the right one. For another their’s is.

chinadoll, you are the good on the church, and yes there are many good. I stated above in all walks of life there are good and bad.

Because a person chooses to no longer be in this church, does not make them wrong....it makes them recovered in their own spirit.
