I am so grateful for this challenge. Since starting the challenge I have lost six pounds, not a stellar amount, but a start. My legs and arms are more toned and most importantly, I am starting to feel better about myself.

I have experinced some stumbling blocks, mainly stress with having to deal with my Mom’s health issues with a need for hospitalization and surgery. What I recently learned is when I am stressed what I am not craving food, I am really craving doing something for myself. Instead of heading for the kitchen for a snack, I am checking in with myself and asking what do I really need. Instaed of reaching for some unnecessary calories, I have started some stress busting rituals such as enjoying a cup of tea, taking a luxurious bath, or just curling up with a book. I am starting to really listen to my body rather than listen to my stress.

Now that I am out of “crisis mode” with my Mom, I am going to be kicking up my workouts a notch. My goal is to privde variety in my workout so that I do not get bored. I have recently discovered a ton of free workouts available through my cable TV. I will be concentrating on pilates, yoga and weight training as well as walking doggies and my eliptical workout.

I am grateful for my experience the last six weeks and I am so happy that I have lost weight and learned to listen to my body, not my cravings!
