Last night my husband and I went to see Neil Sedaka in concert. He was spectacular. Just Neil, a piano, a small theater and many of the famous songs he wrote. But, most of all, he is such a showman. And, even at 70 or so, that man can sing! His voice is as clear and strong as it ever was.

In between songs he talked about his life. What in incredible man. His dad was a cab driver in New York and worked extra hours to put him through Julliard school. He’s been married to the same woman for 45 years. He’s got 2 adult children in the entertainment industry and three grandchildren. You should have seen his face when he talked about his grandchildren! He was so engaging to listen to.

And what talent! Hearing him play the piano, he’s just brilliant. He even took a classical piece by Puccini and added his own lyrics to it. That gave me goosebumps.

The crowd went wild for him! My husband and I walked out of that theater saying that was quite honestly the best concert we’ve ever been to.

Have you seen any classic artists perform now that you and they are older?
