I tried to look up the net on the meaning of Offer Up and none is right to my desire.  So here, I am, have to write this up from my own words.

Offering up to me is when I encounter something unpleasant, either it is pain, sufferings, adversities, sacrifices as such, I offer these to someone or something, giving it a meaningful approach.

Does it help?  Sure it does for me and yet I know it is to God’s great delight.  It is a way to say to Him “Look, I embrace the cross You grace me today.”  In return, we receive 10 folds more in grace.

Offering up is part of my living and keep me positive.

Today, my heart raced.  I offered the racing of each heartbeat to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  I offered the beating to those who were dying.  I offered that to the sick who had heart disease or waiting for a transplant.  I offered the beat to the fallen, the lack of faith, the far away.  I offered up the beats to the priests so they have zealous love for the church, the people and most to Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.

Offer up is a prayer.  Do it often.  It can be simply as a sudden change of shower temperature.  Instead of saying “WTF“, we say “Offer Up” to my family, my friends, etc.

Someone cut into your lane, instead of giving them a finger, we imagine folding our hands, offering up a prayer to them.

If we have terminal illness, offer them up back to those who take care of us, the medical teams, our family.

If we have finance issue, see something that really want to buy, offer up, offer up to end materialism, offer up back to ourselves.  Say a quick prayer “I need nothing more than your love Jesus.  I offer this up back to you.”

Can you think of more?  I welcome you to come back to this blog and write up your offer up day in and day out.

      Blessings.

        • I woke up and looked into the mirror today.  I saw my face, like the MD said, became a MOON face.  I am puffed up and I can see clearly in the mirror.

I then offered up “Dear God, thank you for giving me medicine so my illness can be controlled.  Let me offer up the side effect to those who need RX but get none.”

        • I was raised Episcopalian although I was baptized a Catholic.  I am still learning so many things since returning to the church.  My husband always tells me about Offering Up.  I have tried saying this prayer/doing this more.  I mentioned it to a lady in my ENDOW group and she said, “That’s an old fashioned saying....”   Old Fashioned?  Isn’t everything, if you think about it in the Church, old fashioned?  2000 years of tradition.  That’s one of the reasons I love the church so much...
