Ok, here we go! I’ll commit to posting here every day so we can share our successes, our struggles, share some helpful hints; everything we need to reach our goal.

For me, I want to be under 130 pounds by December 20. I’ve been steadily and slowly losing weight since February but still have that last 20 pounds to take off.

This morning I skipped my walk to play a round of golf with a friend. I made a fresh pineapple smoothie, I’m taking some healthy granola bars with me, and I’ll probably share a sandwich with my friend when we get to the turn at the golf course.

So, what’s your strategy to reach your goal?

        • I have been slowly losing weight and would love a jump start. I will post a couple times a week to keep me honest. I would like to lose 20-30 lbs. It would be the perfect Christmas present to myself!

Thank you Cynthia for starting this thread!

        • Sharing some information from my doctor.  He said to really loose at least 1-2 pounds per month you have to exercise at least 5-6 hours a week.  That means you can choose how you
utilise that 5-6 hours.  He also said to change up the exercise patterns either by every other day or every week.

For me it is comfortable and easy to walk at mornings so I do so from 8-9.  I go to the gym and use the “line” weights on Thursdays and Fridays which takes about 1/2 hour and the other 1/2 hour I walk the threadmill.

We CAN DO IT ladies, we will be pulling each other along.

        • I just came home from golf. I had my fresh pineapple smoothie before I left. I only had one of my granola bars and now I’m eating a large bowl of stir fried pea pods and asparagus. Tonight I’m making pesto but I’ll dilute it with a white wine reduction to cut the oil.

They don’t allow walking on most of the golf courses here because it slows down play. But, it wasn’t crowded so I walked to my ball much of the time.

        • I’m in for the 20! I have far more than that to lose in total...I need some accountability!! I keep trying to convince myself that I have my eating under control and then I allow others to influence me into poor food choices. We eat out a lot. I need to really steer more eating to home. AND I need to get back into REGULAR exercise.

OK - there you have it. I’m IN!

        • By the way - [Link Removed] an awesome free site for tracking food, exercise and water. They also have an iPhone app, I'm sure other mobile trackers as well, so you can keep track when you are away from home. There are articles for motivation - just a ton of free stuff.

I’ll be getting that back in ACTIVE working order tomorrow!

        • I love this idea!  I am ready to lose 20 lbs myself.  I am being placed on sythetic hormones next week after radiation so this will help to motivate me to get back into the gym 9/7 when I clean my scan.

I am on a low iodine diet so I am eating really clean except for one thing - homemade french fries.  I had quinoe for breakfast, black bean tacos for lunch and brown rice and chicken for dinner.  Thanks for the support!

        • I am going to lose 20 lbs by December.  I have been really proud of myself.  For the past 2 months i have been getting up at 5 am to workout.  I have also been doing extra exercise in the evening.  The scale has only budged a little but my belly fat is going down and I feel leaner.  My biggest weakness is food.  I just can’t seem to get the 5-6 small meals in each day....

        • Annie are you still active on the sparkpeople site? I haven’t been there for awhile.

I just came in from my walk. I still have to plan what I’m having for breakfast, lunch and dinner today. I’m also going to pull out some of the clothes I want to get back into and see how far I need to go to get there. I’m hoping that will be  a motivator.estatic

        • Annie that dinner sounds delicious! I love lamb and eggplant is a perfect veggie for it.

I just bought a bender ball for some core work. A friend has one, recommended by her physical therapist, and she can’t believe the improvement in her posture and her absominal strength. I’ll use it this afternoon.

I had a handful of peanuts and a glass of soy milk for brekkie, about to have some sauteed vegetables and a slice of toast for lunch.

I had my sauteed veggies for lunch and Joe wants fish for dinner. That’s good with me! I love fish.

        • My goal is 15 pounds by December.  I have been losing a little but definitely toning up for the last few months.  I just got back from the gym tonight and did my 30 minutes on cybex machine and 30 minutes on recumbent bike.  Ladies, remember it is not just the scales.  Take your measurements because I have been working out steady for months and wasn’t seeing anything on scales but my measurements have showed progress. I rotate my exercise and throw in weights at least 2x/week.

        • Good Morning!

I am off to a decent start..... COFFEE!

          Protien shake then gymestatic

I don’t guarantee the rest of the weekend will be good. I try to allow myself to have no pressure. I don’t actively make bad decisions I just don’t force myself to make good ones. I find that I actually don’t eat so bad..... Most of the time!
