I just took my Murphy to the vet and he was 16 1/2 pounds! He’s a pretty big cat to begin with but that’s just too much. He gets I/D food for his sensitive stomach but I want to mix it with some very low cal dry food to help him lose. He is indoor/outdoor but I’ve watched him and he just lays around. Not much exercise.

      Any feeding suggestions?

        • Cynthia,

Not only have I been carrying around my little guy in my arms, I’ve been feeding him from my hands, now he doesn’t want to be left alone for a second.

I cook for him, I think I’m making him fat.
Tomorrow we are going to the vet...shots....wow, I do think I’m ready to be a grandma

          He has his own couch...

        • Our dog was getting huge due to an injury. My hubz found gluten free dog food. Not only did it help her weight, but it helped our other babies dry skin. I’m sure they have something like that for cats. I even went gluten free and lost 20 lbs.

yana, that puppy is too cute for words!!

        • Wanted to share something funny.

The Vet told me today that he has never seen a puppy so spoiled at 8 weeks.

He set me down and had a talk with me...then...if that was not enough his assistant had a talk with me. This is when I understood my parents.....

They delivered my kids spoiled rotten, I gave them a lecture and they couldn’t care less..but they set there and listened....just like I did today.

          ME BAD

        • Yay!! I love spoiling my kitty. He just purrs all the time. He’s laying on his back on the deck in the sun right now with his feet in the air!

And, I must admit I also like spoiling my husband’s granddaughter, just a little. She’s cute as a bug!

And, Yana, little Stoli is too adorable not to spoil!

        • Tina I know what you mean about not being overfed. I’ve had Murphy on more than one low calorie eating plan. He’s a big cat by nature, he’s a Russian Blue, but I think the problem with him is, he just doesn’t do anything. I watch him throughout the day and he moves from one comfortable resting spot to another. When he’s out in the yard and I call him he just strolls over to me.

I do love my big beautiful boy, though.
