WOW! what is up with people in the world we live in today? Ok here is the thing, I work with nothing but women and of course you all know what that is like I’m sure a pure cat-house full of drama all the time right? Ok well I personally try to keep busy and to myself so’s NOT to get caught up in all the gossip and drama in the place. Ok well for the most part the unit I work on we are some what seclued from everyone else, its like a world within a world ok well most times those who work outside of our unit always, always have some kind of drama going on, and it ends up back in our unit through gossip. Well I for one don’t partake of the gossip I hear it but, just don’t comment on any of it, because I know for one how backstabbing they are and they will run and say you said this and that in a heartbeat.

Ok well I am one who goes to work to work and I do my job well and has gotten praise from my supervisor as well as adminisrration, not that I’m brown-nosing either I just like my job and I do it, ok well some of my co-workers are haters, because whenever they hire someone new they always put them with me to train them. Ok so what I haven’t been there as long as some but, your work habits speak for themselves right? OK so I have been doing a lot of training because they are hiring a lot of people because their about to fire the slackers. Well seeing that the people on my unit and I get along so well I decided to do a luncheon for us all. Now here is the thing the other two units NEVER, NEVER include us in anything they do as far as lunches or when they order out so I’m catering food in for my unit. Some of the ladies from the other units feel I should include them in my treat to my staff that I work with, NOT!!! why? Why should I include those whom I don’t work with and especailly knowing that the majority of them don’t like me and speak negative things about me all the time because I have favor with the big wigs? Its not going to happen, I honestly care NOT what they think of me or what they say about me because I know that they are just miserable people and misery loves company but it just behooves me as to how some people are, funny, funny, funny.happy

        • Neicy you are under no obligation to treat other units to your luncheon treats (except your fab40 sistersestatic).

Now what you could do is get together with a few women from the other units and plan a potluck luncheon for all units at the same time or to take turns at rotating hosting a luncheon for all units. It may be a distraction if you did it too often and you do want it to be perceived as a treat. So I would reccommend only once per month.

Keep your head up and your nose clean and ignore the haters!

        • Neicy,

I feel for you! I used to work with a bunch of mean gossipy old biddies. One day I had enough of it an made a sign of one of my favortie quotes (below) to hang up in the break room. Suprizingly, by the days end one of the old biddies had taken it down.

“Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people.” Eleanor Roosevelt

That said, I have learned that turning the proverbial “other cheek” does have it’s advantages. When you are nice and seemingly unbothered by the toxic cooworkers, it makes them uncomfortable. I love Vikki’s potluck idea. Good luck!

        • LOL love the quote as well, Vikki I will not be doing another luncheon for a while and NO I will NOT try to form one for the other units they have the ability to sit up sand gossip about nothing so let them come up with planning their own. And FYI my luncheon went off well it turned out awesomely well everyone enjoyed the food and was so full at the end of the day they couldn’t believe I cooked all the food my self and the pineapple/coconut cake was a huge hit they killed the cake lol.estatic
