"Our records indicate that you would be eligible for membership in this honor society."
Wow. Ya'll. This line was in the letter that I received in the mail yesterday from Lamar State College. Can you imagine? When I was in high school I always admired the "geeky" kids who were in the honor society. Sometimes I was envious, not believing that I had the academic fortitude to accomplish such feats.
Here I am 30 years later, being recognized for my 3.5 GPA. I have to attend a meeting or at least talk to the faculty sponsor. The letter is signed by the College President.
Phi Theta Kappa was established in 1918 and has over 1,500 chapters in the United States and abroad.
