      Dissimilarity

      The city of God dwells
      Across the earth
      Strengthened by culture and tradition
Many a battle has been fought
In belief and faith of the Divine One
      Holy wars of different language
      Spiritual domain and doctrine

      Military groups formed
In the battle between the forces
Disputes settled by war and killing
      In choosing to die
      They met face to face
      And with perishable moments
      Glory was proclaimed

      History tells us
      That foreign aggression
Is a hinder to all of man
      Private differences
Are in danger of being indifferent
      In divine truth
      Mankind will not unite
And the singleness of its heart
      Will destroy itself

      Minds are set firm
      In establishing and holding belief
      Those who object are sinners
      And must die sinners
      We are our own enemies
      With code and scripture
      Man of violence and destruction
      Wiping out villages
      Whole cities, entire countries
      In the name of God

      In all the land
East and west, north and south
We will dwindle with our hostile ways
In the greater scope of heaven
      The earth and stars
      And the moon and ocean
      Will tremble
And not one body will remain guiltless
The need to find peace is real
For a world that changes into a million colors
Will eventually be obstructed by it own shine

      Nancy
