    • For seven months, I have not worked outside the home, due to my medical condition with four bulging disks and fibromyalgia.
I had been working as a Makeup Artist and loved my job, but standing long hours was aggravating my conditions.  I had resigned from my beauty job with the goal of getting better.

After being home full-time for seven months, I have tried many new supplements and alternative treatments to help relieve the pain.  I am not in as bad of pain, but I am not feeling 100%, either.  Realistically, I know that I will always have to deal with these medical issues, whether I am working outside the home or not.

During this time at home, I am extremely unstimulated, I do not enjoy being home 24/7 and my family truly needs TWO incomes, instead of one for our family of five.  The bottom line is that there is not enough money to pay basic living expenses.

Today, I decided to take action and look for a freelance Makeup Artist position or consider going back to my previous job.  I applied online to two different freelance jobs and I called my manager from my previous position.  I inquired about my manager providing me a good reference if anyone should contact her about me.  She agreed to give me a good reference.  Then she asked me if I would be interested in coming back to work for the holidays to work about 1-3 days per week.  The position is not definite and she explained that she interviewed and hired several individuals for the holiday, but she would have to get back in touch with me to let me know the status of the position.

This afternoon, I received a call from one of the freelance makeup artist positions that I applied to this morning.  On Friday, October 3rd, I have an interview for this job at 11:00 AM.

I am really excited about getting this interview and having the opportunity to work on a free-lance basis doing makeovers.  Since freelance work only requires me to work occasionally, I think that this would not aggravate my back or fibromyalgia.  The position pays excellent and it would provide some extra income to help our family get back on our feet.

Please pray for me that God would provide wisdom and discernment in my job hunting.  Also, pray that God’s will be done; whether it is to work a freelance job, return to my previous position or to not work at all. May God intervene on my behalf and have complete control.

        • Thank You, Lord God, that you give wisdom generously to those who ask. Continue to give our friend wisdom and discernment as she seeks to hear from you about her work. Help her to hear your voice and know when her opportunities are right. Give her the energy and endurance to manage all the aspects of her life in a way that brings glory to you. In Jesus Name, Amen.

        • I too will be praying, knowing that God has a plan for your future, and it far exceeds anything you’ve ever dreamed. (Jer 49:11, Habakkuk ?4? I think)
I have to remind myself often that God’s timing is perfect, and his calendar is not mine. He has blessed my family far and above anything I ever dreamed of as a young person, but when I encounter life changes that don’t measure up in my eyes, I remind myself that God loves me more than I love myself (and my family) and He will work all things together for his will and glory. God will give you exactly what you need!
          Keep us posted.

          Sharing Hope,

          Dee Dee

        • You will do fine do not over do yourself. Do as much as you can,you were supposed to go back to work for a reason. Someone I don’t know who needs you. When you find out who that someone is let me know. Take the OPC 3 I would not guide you wrong I know it works I have seen it work on others. It took you a while to get to this stage, and its going to take you a while to get better. Stay in Faith, and with the Lord, and with his Word, Talk to him about your fears, you will find the Peace, and feel better everyday. I promise you.

        • I pray that God Keeps you focused & lifted up on your new journey back to work.  I too have fibromyalgia & being a nurse is so exhausting at times. I ache in a new place all the time & my sholders are like bricks 24/7 & it is so hard to just get up & start my day sometimes. Taking care of patients has been a good diversion for me to take my mind off my own aches & pains. God gives me strength to see my job through & the thank -you(s) recieved from patients keeps me going. I am saying a big prayer for you as I type this Dana & pray that you are having relief from pain and that God will fill you with strength & energy to help you each day.  Big Hugs,Rita
