    • For seven months, I had not been working since I had been medically challenged with the diagnosis of fibromyalgia and four bulging disks.  However, my family was sincerely struggling financially & trying to live off of one income, instead of two.  In October, I was fortunate to get hired by a cosmetic company to do freelance makeup artistry work for them.  I had worked for them for three days in October and the salary was excellent. In November, I received an email from the sales representative who hired me stating that the cosmetic company was no longer going to have freelance makeup artists because of the poor economy.

It is now 35 days later since I last worked for them and the cosmetic company has not paid me or the other freelance makeup artists.  I have left telephone and email messages with the sales representative who hired me, but he has not responded.

Also, I have emailed the main cosmetic company to inquire about the status of my payment and two different email addresses came back as no longer legitimate.  I spoke with another local makeup artist who has worked with me for this same cosmetic company.  She told me that she has had trouble in the past with getting paid by this company.  She tried contacting the sales rep and he is not responding to her, either.

I contacted Labor Relations and was told that there is nothing that they can do for me because my position was an independent contractor.  He said that if this cosmetic company does not pay me that there is nothing that I can do about it.

My family was relying on this income and we need this paycheck.  I am very concerned about the possibility that I may NEVER get paid for the work that I provided.  My only hope is in God to intervene on my behalf to get paid for this freelance job.  Please lift this situation up in prayer. Please pray for a miracle!

In addition to the Better Business Bureau, you might also want to try your Attorney General.

        • Oh, my gosh, you won’t believe this!  The sales rep from the cosmetic company just sent me an email stating that he submitted my work hours over one month ago and that he is not sure why the company is not paying the makeup artists.  He apologized, but stated that he has no control over payroll.

Keep praying because I need this company to take responsibility and pay me what is rightfully owed to me.

        • Newest Update:  The sales rep who hired me was terminated from the cosmetic company along with many other salespeople.  Very sad losing a job during the holidays.

I still have not received my paycheck.  I am still waiting on God!

        • I think you need more action.  Write a letter along with all other proofs as well as email from the sale reps, address to the company that owes you.  Send it out registered.  On the letter, tell them the situation, business like, and also demand an answer or payment within certain days, end the letter with, “If I don’t hear from a respond from you within x days, I will purse further legal action.”

A priest once told me “God will intervenes but it does not mean we sit and wait for His Divine Intervention.”

Hope I come across nice, for I think business is business.

        • This is awful but seems to be the “normal” at the moment as people / companies try to duck out of paying.

I agree with China Doll you have to send proff etc; and keep chasing. I’m afraid he who shouts loudest gets heard the most in these cases.
I hope this is resolved by the holidays.

        • I am praying for you. We are in a similar situation. My hubby is a contractor and we are owed money from a General contractor who is not being paid by the customer they did the work for. There is alegal obligation for them to pay but it can take literally months to get the $$$ from them. We are just at their mercy right now and 1 week from Christmas, as you know, is no time to be financially strapped. It sucks but...I too am lifting it up in prayer and I know  the Lord will provide! I am praying he does the same for you!

        • Know that God always Provides when you have faith in him! I myself have been struggling financially but have always sewed seeds in others and just last week I was down to my last $20, had not been able to pay my bills and in the process of  having my utilities disconnected, but I was believing and trusting God to come through. Sure enough he did, a brother from my church called me and said that God had put in his heart to sew a financial seed in my life and asked me for my bank account #, at first I thought wow! and when i looked in my bank account they had deposited $500. I got down on my knees praising the Lord for his provision and then a friend of mine called me and wanted to see how I was doing when I told him about the blessing, he also came over and gave me a check for $300 he said it was an early christmas gift. Is God good or what? He provided because i believed he would. So all I say is have faith and watch the provision come your way!

Thank you for your prayers and Yes, God is definitely in control!
