I am still looking for that “miracle mascara” that is bold without flaking. I do not wear waterproof unless I have to so I would like to find one that is not. My upper lashes touch my brow bone and always leaves little specks on it. I’m tired of checking the mirror all day long to see if my mascara is behaving!!!!!!!!!!!! Any suggestions ladies?

        • My lashes hit my brow bone too and I usually just resort to waterproof. I’ve tried all the Maybeline high volume type stuff and they‘re ok. I’ve used Clarins that isn’t waterproof and it was nice and seemed to stay on without flaking. They gave me a sample first so I could try it and then I bought some. Haven’t tried Chanel but when I run out I’m going to. I’m always on the hunt for a good mascara!

Like this new group! This could be fun to share new products we’ve all tried. Good idea

        • Chocolatier-

I have tried Maybeline too and it is good when it is new but seems to maybe dry out quickly and then starts to flake after I use it for about a week. I will get a sample of Clarins, I haven’t tried that yet.

          Tammy3-

Chanel I will definitely try also. I last tried Diorshow and it did not flake but it went on thin & not bold & dramatic at all like they claim.

She gave me loads of samples and told me how important it is to take care of my skin. I was hooked and have been using Clarins ever since. Must admit, though, I love to try new things. And, I like the idea of the natural home made skin treatments.

They end up about 500x thicker and longer and it doesn’t smear. If you want your lashes to really stand out, I would recommend this. I got mine while in Florida, but I see you can purchase it online at Sephora.

leeann6107- Do you use a powder or cream blush? I have not yet tried a cream blush and am wondering if they are good. I have heard that they don’t stay on as long as powder. From your picture you look like a “Fall” person. Am I correct? I can see you in a nice apricot color.

        • So ladies...I have to brag on a product I just bought. I am a lip gloss wearer and have found one that stays on for a long time! It is Clinique long last glosswear SPF 15. I read about it in Allure magazine and they gave it rave reviews for it’s staying power so I had to try it. I am so happy, I have to go out and get a few more colors! And the best part is that it does not dry out my lips. So many of those glosses that are long wearing just leave a stain on the lips and they get very dry. This gloss is actually moisturizing. I don’t know how they do it but I am loving it!

Each formulation is going to look different.

I became and Avon rep about 18 months ago and began using Avon Smoothe Mineral Make-up about 6 months ago...LOVE this stuff.  It goes on smoothe and there is a multitude of shades, so you‘re sure to find your perfect match.  I use the foundation, the blush and the eye shadows.

Avon has a brand new product called Face Magix.  This is used after your moisturizer but before your makeup.  It levels the tone and surface of your skin, so your makeup goes on more evenly.  Another winner by Avon!

I was skeptical of the mineral makeup, being a black woman it’s hard to find colors that are not garish or heavy on yellow undertones or red undertones. When I wear just the foundation without any other makeup, I get compliments on my pretty skin. If only they knew! :)

I live in Louisiana and even when it was super hot I had no problems with Bare Essentials. And believe me I sweat hard, my husband and I work for FedEx so we are out in the heat. I’ve worn it for years and love it, never had a problem with it.
However, if I had to wear a liquid, I used to wear Revlon Colorstay and it was really nice. But Bare Essentials is it for me.

We also have people who have even been allergic to other company’s sensitive skin products, but can use BC’s regular.  If anyone is interested in further information, please let me know.  Actually, if you would like to be a consultant, (to earn money or just for your own product) now is the time to join.   I am a spa and skin care consultant.  I’m not really a sales person, but this is something I truly believe in and have seen the results.

Clinique’s Almost Makeup is great also. Of course these are for people who only need minimum to medium coverage. As for mineral make up, I order my eye shadows from a company called Mad Minerals. LOVE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM! Tons of colors! The eye shadow is the only thing I have tried from them. Also, their products do not contain Bismuth.

          Thanks,

I did my own research. They‘re not a compact signer with Skin deep, but I typed their ingredients into Skin Deep Safety Data Base and got a score on each ingredient. They scored pretty low on their mineral makeup.Good job BeautiControl, now if they would just disclose their ingredients along with their products,so women could know what they are putting on their skin.

        • ISAGENIX is MY secret weapon! There is something to be said about cleansing on the inside and it showing up on the outside. I can’t believe how many compliments I get about how I appear younger and younger each year. And to shed lbs and inches as a side benefit?...it’s a win, win! And the important thing is that I feel healthier and happier than I have in years!

Giving my body the nutrients that are critical to my health are more important today than ever. Our bodies are forced to deal with greater environmental pollutants (impurities) and we're undernourished because over-farming has depleted the nutrients from our land and produce grown on the land.

It's important to me to select a product that is good for my body and over all health. So I totally love Isagenix because it replaces nutrients missing from food, and is made with the highest quality raw materials, has nutrients that enhance absorption, and has nutrients that naturally cleanse impurites.

Lots of water, a high quality, soluble supplement, and decent diet.  I don’t exercise as much as I used to, but that is important too.  It gets your blood pumping, brings fresh color to your cheeks, and sweating carries impurities out.

The only make-up I ever use is Nicole Miller’s Waterproof mascara.  If I had dark lashes I wouldn’t use it, but being fair...

My mom taught me this aging graceful tip: accept our graying hair as it occurs.  Coloring is time consuming, costly, and the coloring agents are unhealthy for our hair and our health.  Be comfortable and confident with who you are, gray hair and all.  Hey, we earn these gray hairs.  Wear them as a badge of honor!  : )
