Here is a couple I’ve thought of:

      1. I am a role model for my girls.
      2. The time I spend with my children is quality time. I have to make the most of it as my time is limited.

What do you think is great about being a working mother?

        • Not onl being a role model for girls, but for those who are mothers of boys as well. They will learn to treat their female colleagues with respect and appreciate their working spouse as well.
I agree completely regarding quality time, it is very important; and to make yourself available to them when they want to share important aspects of their lives.

        • I agree with everything you said, and can add that:

            - My husband is much more involved in the girls life than he would have been otherwise (compared for example to the times I was home on maternity leave).

            - I really enjoy my job - I like the interaction and brainstorming sessions with people, the friends I made at work, I love the feeling of achieving my goals, I enjoy going on business trips, and I’m sure I can come up with more.

        • Well, sometimes you just need a break from being Mommy!

There’s something to be said about maintaining an identity that’s not all wrapped up in being a parent. We are so much more throughout our days and weeks and months, that if we limit our exposures and interaction with other, like-minded adults, we may lose ourselves in the process.

Plus, when you‘re fulfilled, it will overflow into all of your relationships, not just the ones with your kids.

        • For me....I work better on a schedule.  When I taught school and had the summers off...I totally wasted the summer away.  But when I have to get up and be at work at a certain time...I manage my time so much better and I get it all done most of the time.

And I like the fulfillment that I get from helping others.
