I realize that living in Hawaii, we have to pay more for everything; $4.37 for a tank of gas the other day, $8.00 for a loaf of good french bread, $6.00 for a carton of eggs...We don’t like it but we‘re not going to live here forever.

But this one really takes the cake. Last night my husband was staying in Honolulu at the new Disney resort. He’s attending a conference. He had dinner in the hotel’s restaurant; a small steak, a salad and a glass of wine. $90.00!!!!! It’s criminal.

There’s an Italian restaurant down the street from our house. We eat there a lot when we don’t feel like cooking. The other night I had a small serving of pasta that included 3 scallops, we shared an order of fried calamari, He had a seafood stew and we each had a glass of wine and then we shared tiramisu for dessert. We paid over $100. It’s not a fancy place either. Just a run of the mill Italian restaurant.

What’s considered a moderate priced restaurant meal for you where you live?
