Good morning!!! It’s gloomy here in NJ today. It’s going to rain for the next 5 days!! I’m OK with this, because I have some many indoor projects to do.

Today, I hope to finish my painting. We’ll see.

I’m about to make a pot of coffee that I can finish before everyone else gets up (just kidding!).

What are your plans for today?

      Annie

        • Good Morning Annie and Eva!

I am working a bit today then maybe finishing a book. We may hit the InternationalnBBQ cook off later if the rain holds off. They had to move it to the college football field since the park they normally use is part of the Mississippi now. I’m sure the food will be good tho!!!!

Tomorrow is all about planting flowers estaticestaticestatic

        • Today in Cols. Ohio they are having the annual Race for the Cure downtown. Thousands will gather to walk/run from 1 to 5 miles to raise money for breast cancer. They will be wearing their PINK t-shirts and pink wigs. I wish I could join them but just beginning to walk again after my ankle surgery , still in alot of pain, so maybe next year. My daughter and some friends will be there though and taking pics for me.

        • Morning Annie, Eva and Vikki,

It’s going to rain here 4 or 5 days too, starting with today some time. It’s already clouded over with some angry looking clouds. My brother wanted me to drive down for a bbq today, but I think not! LOL  It’s May so I’m not surprised by the weather here.

Yesterday was a good news day. The new love seat I bought is being delivered on Monday. I’m so jazzed, it’s my first piece of furniture to sit on of my own in almost 19 years. My choice was for a neutral color and one full seat cushion. It’s longer than the old butt killer love seat, and I’ll be able to lay down on it if I want to. ;oD

        • Vikki, I was going to wait till I get moved (one less thing to move) but... then I had a really sore tail bone for 3 days and having to drag the recliner across the room to read and view TV on the 13” rabbit ear unit connected to a converter box and back across the room for watching movies on the new TV without antenna hook up. ( X unplugged the connection up to the house again.) I got mad at myself that I’ve put myself through this when all I did need was a comfortable piece of furniture so the recliner stays put. LOL

It's a nice neutral color, not too light that my animals who live in the woods, get it all ugly grungy getting near it, not too dark that it looks all masculine. And it was on SALE! One of my most favorite words.

        • Good afternoon fabulous gals..

I’ve been very lazy this morning...did a little picking up around the house and watching TLC...and these first time house flippers.  It’s raining and I do hear some thunder.  I’m about to shower...and run over to Old Navy to use my 50% off coupon on one regular priced item.  Then come back and maybe work on my sunroom.

My husband had surgery Thursday.  He had a spine stimulator implanted and he’s been in a lot of pain so I’m also playing nurse this weekend

It’s raining hard out there so Old Navy might wait.  Hope everyone has a good day at whatever you‘re doing!!happy

I made a quick run to town for dog food and a few groceries before it Rains. The bagger was a gal I’ve known for years, and she was telling me that it’s going to Snow! I’m standing there shaking my head no and saying, No no no no no... no snow! I don’t want snow!”  LOL

        • He’s already had two back surgeries.....and one full knee replacement and he will be 50 in July.  YOUNG! He has battled chronic back pain for years so this is his lat hope.  The trial was very successful and they said the actual implant will work even better.  He has his first back surgery in ‘99 and the second in‘01....knee replacement in ‘07.  So he has suffered with chronic pain for years.

This implant surgery has been pretty rough.  My husband said he’s had more pain with this surgery than he did with the back surgeries or the kneee replacement.  Hopefully he will be on the road to recovery and get his life back!

        • His name is Phillip.  They won’t turn the stimulator on for 10 days or about 8 now.  They want the two incisions to heal first.  The trial worked great and got rid of about 80% of his pain...so they say the real implant works even better so we are very encouraged by all of this.

The processor is implanted under the skin and has a battery like a watch battery.  About every 6-7 years he’ll have to have the battery replaced.  He has a remote control that he uses to control the electrical stimulation. I’m thinking on great...another remote control to keep up with ...LOL

        • Hi Mary C,

My computer won’t do videos, but I’ve picked up the gist from your and Neicy’s posts. I’ll say he’s Young! Only 50 is young to me. Did he fall off a roof or what? He sounds like he’s been mangled some how. 8 more days and he gets to push the remote button for relief. It amazes me that this medical wonder exists.

I had to work today.  First time in years I’ve worked a Saturday at the restaurant, so I’m confused and keep thinking it is friday.

It’s a cold dismal day here again.  Making some twice baked potatoes for supper.

        • Cathie...no he didn’t fall off of a roof....he has had two ruptured discs.....and I contribute his back issue with lifting heavy weights when he was young, some hereditary traits, and his type of work.  The knee issue is an old football injury from high school.

Now he has scar tissue all in his spine from the previous two surgeries.....it’s painful and nothing you can do for it until they come up with something that gets rid of scar tissue.

          Thanks you Neicy!!
