okay, not really sick, but I’m sure tired of having chronic diseases.
I have enough meds to build a monument to the drug industry.
pills, shots, vitamins, schedules to keep them all straight.

Stuff to get me moving, stuff to make it easier to take the stuff to get me moving.

I’d love to get up in the morning, put my feet on the ground without wincing and get myself ready for the day w/o the use of a single solitary bottle of pills.

        • Oh, how I know what you mean.  In about 20 minutes I have an appointment with another specialist, the kind that strikes fear into the strongest of hearts - a hemolytic oncologist (say that 10 times fast).  What I would not give just get rid of all the pills, even the multivitamin.

And do you find you get tired of the people who say “if you just get up and move, you’ll feel better.”  I already know that, idiot!  I’d like to do it without pain, thank you very much.

        • that and “maybe if you just would change you attitude, you’d be fine”
I have an extremely positive outlook, what I have is an autoimmune disease, a nerve-ending condition and degenerative discs.  Tell me, what listed there would be better w/ a different attitude.

Oh and-you shouldn’t let it get to you, it makes things worse.  Ya think?  you mean stress makes it worse, thank god someone pointed it out to me

        • Carine,
I know what you mean, although I wouldn’t live without my supplements. I wouldn’t be able to get out of bed in the morning. People can say the most ignorant things, meaning well of course. Auto-immune conditions don’t make you ‘look’ sick, so people just assume it is in your head. I have to admit, I used to be one of those people - even with my mom to some degree. Then it hit ME, so I have groveled, apologized, and begged forgiveness. When I found something that helped me I practically made my mom take it too. In fact, she tells people she took it just to get me to shut up. :) That, and the fact that I bought it for her, and put it on her kitchen table. Now she thanks me, but back then she did a lot of griping, and every tiny thing got blamed on ‘that stuff you have me taking‘. Now she is off all but one of her 13 meds. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t still swallow pills... but at least they aren’t pharmaceuticals.
