I started this group for women who are in business and for women who want to be in business. As business owners we can pull together and share ideas, resources, contacts to help our businesses grow. We can talk about our plans for the future, create a wish list and see if we can help one another realize their goals. If we have members who want to start a business we can provide mentoring through our shared experiences.

I am a chocolatier and have been so professionally for 6 years. My business is small and I’m ready to grow. I’d love to start open forums for others to share their dreams for the future as they either start a new venture or grow an exsting business.

        • Hi Cathie. I was hoping you would be here. Go up the the other thread and post your link. I’m wanting to compile URL links so someday when Yana is able to create a professional section of the site, she’ll have everything together to make it easier for her. My vision for this group is to create threads for all aspects of business from needing start up help to sharing resources to just creating a wish list to help our businesses grow.

It’s my belief that we, as women, have a such a profound ability to connect and empathize with one another that we have an innate skill to help each other grow.

          Thanks for being here
          Cynthia

        • Thank you for starting this group! I think is will be a great thing for all of us that have our own business or are wanting to start one. I started my own business a little over 11 years ago. I was a single Mom of 4 daughters at the time working 3 jobs totally 65 hours per week. I was so tired and wasn’t there to watch my kids grow up. It wasn’t their fault I was single so why should they pay such a heavy price! It was scary at first but very successful decision.

Having your own business takes commitment, persistence and belief in yourself even when things look shaky. You‘re the one who puts the most investment into the business and I don’t mean just monetary. There are so many emotions that go along with owning your own business. Most things are emotional for women but this is so personal.

Anyway, I am here if anyone has questions on getting past road blocks, or family negativity (oh yes, you’ll find some of that) and how to get past yourself.

Remember you can do anything that God puts in your mind to do. You just have to build the skill.

          Believing in each of you,
          Denise

In answer to your question - I already did my one thing this week. I joined BNI. It may take a little longer to see profits from it because our chapter is still forming. I think that especially for people with low ticket items the cost could seem prohibitive, but I am already reaping rewards with our small core group. www.bni.org - see if there is a chapter near you and check it out. It doesn’t cost to be a visitor. We have even given our visitors business on the very first day!

        • Last week we did a home party.  I guess this is a new craze.  What this party is, you invite a few vendors who have products in your area to your home or the home of your friend.  You have them set up tables with their products (products that make great gifts) and you invite all your fiends and have them invite their friends as a open house.  You serve food (enticement) and have a party while your friends shop for gifts.  We made some great contacts from this party.  Think of doing that in your area.

I started my business by working for a caterer full time. I worked sometimes 12 hours on my feet in a banquet hall then went home and made chocolates until the wee hours of the morning. Hard work but I was just so driven!

And, Cathie, I’m still thinking about what you said about people gathering in someone’s home and setting up to sell their products and services. I wish we had more members here on Maui. I live in a huge house on 2 acres. I could host this kind of thing so easily. But I love your idea. I want to pursue this and maybe do something on one of my trips to the mainland.

Ive been through every pitfall and plunge you can think of and have kept my head above water.  I work in a male dominated world and have become the top in my field.

          Wonderful Idea Chocolatier.

Ive been told by reporters that Im the most written about Private Investigator in the USA, and I have googled myself a few times and I guess it could be true.  Ive been the character subject of many books and inspiration for many more.  Im kind of like a muse, when people are around me, creativity begins to flow and truth submerges, sometimes that is good and sometimes truth cant be handled by some.

Here are some of my credits, the list is continual so I wont bore anyone.  Im in the process of having my Biography written, and in the middle of a new book that will reveal a very old secret, that Im told will rock the world when released.

Bobbi Bacha also was involved and worked on the case of New York Millionaire Robert Durst whom was charged with murder in Galveston Texas for killing his neighbor Morris Black but was found not guilty by a Galveston County Jury.

Bobbi Bacha has been featured in several books:

A Deadly Secret by Matt Birkbeck
With Out a Trace by Marion Collins
Out of Control by Steve Long
          "Celebrity Murders"

          Inspired "A Beautiful Child"

After six months of research I joined the site in July and have sold only one thing—my boyfriend bought it. I cannot figure out how to get my site noticed: I was thinking about SEO but it’s expensive. I have handed out hundreds of business cards but, still, nothing.
