Okay, I’m going to start with one of my favorite movies of all time.  This was during my “girly-girl” phase where everything was about striving to be a “super-girly, feminine lady.”  This movie follows a group of southern belles who come together for all of life’s big events and are there for each other.  If you have seen this, you probably also remember the scene (not wanting to spoil it for those who haven’t) where you‘re in the middle of crying, only to begin laughing hysterically simply because of the initial shock of the inappropriateness of comments and actions.

I love the type of movie that makes you laugh, cry, cheer, yell and basically get ‘over-involved’ in the characters’ lives, and this one does it in spades.  Fully biased in giving this an A+.

Made in 1989. Starring: Julia Roberts, Sally Field, Olympia Dukakis, Darryl Hannah, Shirley Mclain, Dolly Parton, Tom Skerritt and Dylan McDermott.
