        • I started to make jewelry when I first quit working. Now when I feel an urge to eat something I shouldn’t I go work on my jewelry to side track me.

        • I made some ice cubes with real lemon juice added and also made some cubes with lemon slices frozen in them.
Adds color and flavor to my many glasses of water.

        • Lately I’ve been setting little mini goals. I’ve had 2 pair of pants that I try on every few days to keep me motivated. It really helps. I’m almost in them. I can now button and zip them but they still don’t look very flattering on me. I’m thinking I’ll be wearing them later in the spring.

        • I am reading at book called Failure is not the End by Dennis Leonard. It has been helping get my focus back as I try and launch another business in my forties LOL!

I also agree with Cynthia. Hearing success stories of others inspires me to keep moving forward towards my goals.

        • I abide by the 20 minute rule. When I think I want more food, I walk away and do something for 20 minutes. I was in the habit of looking up weight loss stories on the internet since I know that they strugled with the same issues that I have.

I also signal the end of a meal with a cup of tea, piece of gum or bruch my teeth.

The other tip I have to add is building accountability into my life. I write down what I eat and wear my pedometer. Research has shown that people who wear pedometers put on 2,500 steps more a day than individuals who don’t wear them.

Just knowing that you all are working out and eating healthier makes me stick with the program as well.

        • I am still trying to walk...and still trying to make better food choices.  I dont’ eat a lot...just not always the best.

Going to keep on trying...never giving up...

        • Some good strategies here!  I also posted a photo of me in my early 40’s right in view of my treadmill. This tells me that I can get there again. It’s not so long ago that the goal would be unatainable. I think I was 41 or 42 in the photo and I was wearing a pair of jeans that I’d love to get back into.
