      STUFFED GREEN PEPPER SOUP

          INGREDIENTS

              * 2 pounds ground beef (or ground turkey)

              * 2 quarts hot water (a little less)

              * 1 can (28 ounces) tomato sauce

              * 1 can (28 ounces) stewed tomatoes, undrained

              * 2 cups cooked long grain basmati rice

              * 2 cups chopped green peppers

              * 1/2 cup chopped onion

              * 1/4 cup Dark Brown Sugar (a little more)

              * 2 teaspoons salt

              * 2 teaspoons beef bouillon granules (a little more)

              * 1 teaspoon pepper  ( I use 2)

              * garlic powder to taste

          DIRECTIONS

          In a Dutch oven, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in the remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30-40 minutes or until peppers are tender.

          Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.

          Yield: 10 servings.
