Imagine a newspaper in 2008 asking readers’ help in perusing Obama’s emails as U.S. senator! I can hear the outrage now!!!

Why is it acceptable to do this to Sarah Palin??

        • You know what’s even scarier... Is how they will and do find a way to excuse the behavior and the creative reasons to do so. The powers that be can twist and justify why it’s exceptable to do one thing to someone and not another. This has been seen a few different times during this presidential term. And even people follow the twisted and mangled truth of what’s excepted for others and what’s allowed for the official leader of the united states of today.

        • I agree ...where is the outrage?  Wasn’t this brought up a while ago on my blog about Obama’s roommate???  Hmmm....even though some of the information was incorrect....some were a little ticked that it was even written (I didn’t write it but posted it)...so...what would the difference be between such an email and emails about Sarah Palin?  NOTHING...but the outrage is usually with anything to do with Obama and not say...Sarah Palin.  God forbid we say anything against the all mighty Obama..  Just my opinion....

So why is it right to dig up emails on her and not on Obama?

        • I agree with most of the comments. Reading anybody’s email is an absolute intrusion of privacy. Period.  I believe reading Sarah Palin’s email is no different and should be protected.  As an American citizen this is absolutely not right thing to do.   But let’s deal with this issue of privacy.  This is NOT a pissing contest between a sitting President and Sarah Palin.

So why exactly is Obama even brought up in this conversation???? Obama haters just won't quit.   Some people will find anything to spew hate on our President. It's so tiring.

The greater issue is that Ms. Palin’s privacy is being violated.  Why politicize this issue by trying to drag the President’s name through the mud. It’s hard for me to engage in these discussions with Republicans and bias Americans because you can never get to the real issue because “OBAMA the ENEMY” is going to be brought into the conversation.

If the sun doesn’t rise ...it’s his fault.
If Sarah Palin doesn’t know Paul Revere....it’s somehow his fault.

Of course, I know there is no one currently on this site that perhaps is bias to Obama. (_And we all know that it doesn’t matter “who or what he is“.  I have heard that a thousand times._ ) This comment is only directed to those that are bias.

This is about an American citizen’s rights being violated NOT a sitting President.

        • Lately, I think most people in this world are just hateful..period!  When I listen to my 23 year old son say that he doesn’t think that the future holds anything for his generation, it makes me cry...and I don’t give a rat’s ass if it is Obama’s fault, or Palin’s fault or the Queen of Sheba...as far as I am concerned, we as Americans are in deep shit, and if the politicians don’t pull their heads out of their ass, then we are going down—BIG TIME!!!

Sorry to be crude, but I have had enough of it.

        • As for Ms Palin... No I don’t think it’s fair that her personal email is an issue. ( I do need to read Annie’s link that she posted)

LaTosha I am an Obama supporter just so you know there are some on here. Does that mean I agree with everything he does? Nope! I LOVE my hubz and sometimes want to drop kick him but.....

As for who’s fault is it that the country is the way it is..... OURS! Because we elect then for the most part stand down!

        • Absolutely Vikki, just recently our son asked me what would happen if the average person gathered another average person and so on, until a HUGE group was formed and we all started a protest from state to state and then converged on Washington, D.C. with a big loud speaker and told the government what WE wanted as the people or they would have to find a prison big enough to support hundreds of thousands of people.

My son should run for office!!estaticestatic

        • Mary that is what needs to happen! It doesn’t matter what side of the political line you are on. We all seem to be unhappy with some aspect of what is going on. Only WE can make those changes by forcing the issue!

        • @Marya I agree with you.  People can be very hateful.  That is why I don’t like to comment on open political forums and discussions.  People like to blame other people and are mean spirited!!  There is a difference in not liking a person’s actions and not liking a person.  Most of the people on this site don’t know many of the people that hold office.  Therefore, we should be very careful at claiming our dislike for people we don’t even know.

Like you, there are many elected people that I do not like their positions, their approaches or representation.  As our representatives we have the right to critique their actions and decisions.

@Annie I absolutely agree with you.  Women are treated very unfairly in the American political system.  I certainly have seen many sexist remarks, disrespectful comments about her parenting, and attacks on her family.  I have seen very unfair statements of her as a wife and mother.   (And I am not a Palin political fan AT ALL because I think her political strategy feeds into American extremism, hate and fear for her own political ambition. )  I don’t know her as a person.

Notwithstanding I do believe she has experienced challenges and extra scrutiny as a female politician.

But she gives the media “a lot” to work with!

        • It’s wrong to invade anyone’s privacy through reading their emails....but as Annie was using Obama as a comparison....if the group was hiring people to find Obama’s emails...it would be a another story!! There would be outrage but I don’t hear the outrage (except from Annie...and rightfully so) from anyone else.

I too feel there are double standards with certain people and definitely with women vs. men.

        • @MaryClark that’s not true.  You completely ignored my comments that supported Annie’s position. I stated that I thought it was wrong.  Yet if I had commented in support of Obama for ANYTHING you would have seen that.  At least be truthful and fair to my comments.

@Annie we know that Palin is a rock star.  She creates media hits and interest for herself.  I think it is a smart political strategy. However, if you ask me if I thought she was a smart leader—well that’s different story.

Some of this media frenzy around Palin is totally staged and created by the people around her.  You don’t drive around in a ROCK STAR bus that is  fully wrapped with your name and promotion plastered around the country and say, “Darn it I don’t want those pesky media people didn’t give me any attention.  Hold the mirror while I check my make-up.” (smile)

At any rate, I am moving on from this conversation.

And I didn’t see your post until after I finished mine...sorry.  I was at the beach when I was typing this and was being interrupted while typing.  Please accept my apology..
