        • I love my tarot cards, have so many decks it is hard to say a favorite. I pick them for the art or the novelty. I use them depending on my mood or what the question is. Some of the decks seem to work better depending on the situation. One of the novelty decks I really like is Lord of the Rings, it is good for situations that are turbulent. I also have a Halloween deck, that is my favorite holiday, the cards are cute and whimsical, I like to use them for fun type readings. The last deck I purchased was Rider Waite, it is a standard deck that most people learn on. I really like it and find more meaning each time I use the cards.

Haven’t read cards in a while, now I am thinking I need to pull them out and work with them a little.

        • Yes, I have Tarot of the Old Path too. I need to work with it, I haven’t used them much since I first got them. I need to check out Tarot of the Elves, sounds very interesting I will look them up. I have seen the Motherpeace deck but never used it. Thanks for the info on books, I will be checking them out too.

        • I just bought my first deck and am a bit nervous about using it.  Growing up in the south and in a fundementalist christian home, I can just hear my mother screaming “Yer gonna go to hell if you even open those thangs up!!!”  LOL!

        • Callie, while I didn’t grow up with a rigid religious background. I too was a bit scared when I first began to read cards due to this kind of religious thought. But it soon became clear to me that the bible is full of prophets and I began to wonder what the difference was...

I have found tarot to be a great tool for understanding myself and the world around me better.

        • Hello Ladies
Have not been here in awhile, I to have read with playing cards. It is a little harder to do, but like standard tarot it takes practice and patience. For the longest time I thought I was the only person to read them.
Thank you Annie for letting others know a regular card deck can be used also.
May all have a great day.

        • Callie, the cards are just cards. They cannot control you. It's up to you to make of them what you will. They are a tool. A hammer can be used to hurt someone but the majority of the time a hammer is used to build something—it's a useful tool. The cards cannot hurt anyone (unless maybe they get a paper cut.) The cards can be a wonderful tool for inspiring your imagination, intuition and creativity. See what useful thing you can build with them!

Oh I know.  It’s just something that I will have to adjust to - realizing that it’s not evil like my momma instilled in me.  So far I’ve been enjoying what I’ve been reading but this morning was a bit unnerving.  It didn’t sound like a positive reading at all.  More like a warning.  ehn!!!
