I’m about half way through this book and love it.

Oscar is a sad character, being brought up in an immigrant’s world. You see things from his perspective and from those around him.

The characters are described well but not overly described. You feel their emotions and experience their lives. It is written so well you just fly through the text.

There is a little spanish here and there in the book, but just a a little - so if you don’t speak spanish it doesn’t take away from the story and if you do, all the better.

This book was the winner of the 2008 National Book Critics Circle Award and the 2008 Pulitzer Prize, for Fiction.

If you are interested in reading this with me, let me know!
