      “You and me, us never part...”

      Drama, 1985.  Starring: Whoopi Goldberg, Danny Glover, Akosua Bousia, Oprah Winfrey, Margaret Avery, Adolph Caesar.

      One of Steven Spielberg's masterpieces!!!  Who hasn't seen this movie and cried their eyes out at the final scene?  Or wanted to knock "Mister" through a wall? Or secretly (or not so secretly) willing Celie to use the blade on "Mister" for something other than shaving?  This is another of those movies where if you're not careful, you can get overly involved in the characters' lives.  My 11-year old nephew gets so angry at "Mister" and yells every time, "why is he being so mean to that woman????"  Baby, if I knew, I'd solve the whole domestic violence issue myself...
