This is a news clip about a man who was stabbed last night in the mall that I work in. I am a part-time employee at Macy’s and was at work at the time this happened. It is so scary that this stuff probably happens more than we think. Please pray for this man & for the people who had to witness it.

Man stabbed at Arrowhead Towne Center in Glendale

Glendale police are investigating the stabbing of a man at the Arrowhead Towne Center Mall Wednesday night.

The 27-year-old male was stabbed in the chest after intervening in a fight between two robbers and mall security guards, said Glendale Police Sgt. Jim Toomey.

The victim was airlifted to a local hospital and was in serious condition.

At 7:45 p.m., the two robbers entered the upper level of the Mervyn’s department store. They were attempting to steal five pairs of shoes when confronted by mall security guards.

The suspects began to fight the guards near the entrance of the store when a citizen intervened. One of the suspects pulled out a knife and stabbed the man in the torso. The security guards began to aid the citizen and the robbers ran to the parking lot and drove away in a car which had been circling the parking lot.

The robbers are believed to be in their 20s. They fled to a gray or blue four-door sedan.

        • I’m so sorry you were at work when this happened. Just hearing about is is horrible but it’s only magnified when you‘re in the vicinity.

People with no conscious exist and have always been among us. I believe, however, that if our economy continues to worsen this type of crime will be committed not only by those who do it habitually but some will do it out of a feeling of desparation. I pray for this good samaritan and for his family.

        • Thank you chocolatier. The helicopters were searching the area with their spotlights but did not find them. Macy’s did not close until 10:00 last night and it was scary walking out to our cars knowing what had happened. I did have a funny comment said to me last night though. This lady came to my register to make a payment on her Macy’s card and told me about the helicopter & that it seemed to be following her with it’s spotlight. She was afraid that he was following her because she was speeding to get there to pay her bill on time. I only wish that was the case!
