        • Thank you Kat for your post.
I practice feng shui in my home as best I can. Although I am not very good at remembering the different areas of the bagua (the guideline used in feng shuing a room or home), I am very intuitive in my approach.
I think it is very important to have a balance in ones home. Your home should reflect who you are or where you want to be.
I also believe in arranging furniture and accessories in the home for a more positive flow of energy.
It’s always amazing to me that by changing even one object in a room can bring about tremendous positive or negative results. And how colors have the same affect.
I feel it’s important to always try to incorporate all the different elements into each room of the house.

        • I agree Almostfive0 it's the same for me..Up till I moved in with Jerry I have always been one to decorate and I try to keep all balanced also..But he is a collective person..So every room is an amassed collection of stuff..I have gotten something's worked out but I am limited..We are not married so I feel I must respect his wishes..I do have a shop I am setting up in our building next to the house where I do my crafts and this summer I am making it mine..LOL...

        • I understand!  The condo that we’ve rented here in Puerto Rico is furnished. This is the second place that we’ve lived in that is furnished with someone else’s things and it threatens to drive me crazy knowing that someones energy other than ours is in almost everything here.

I feel this makes it even more important to keep my surroundings as harmonious as I can.

We are very limited in what we can do and we are also on a limited budget. I try to counter the feeling of someone else’s energy by incorporating as much of our own as I can and arranging the furniture in a way that allows for the positive flow of energy. It is a challenge!

I’m glad you’ll finally have a sanctuary where you can go to feel creative, balanced and at ease.

        • I know how you feel about someone else's energy being there..Some of the things here were his ex wife's things and it does drive me crazy cuz I get a bad vibe when I have to be around the items..So to counter these bad energies I made homemade craft things and displayed them on top of her items..Like a table or decretive shelving..I made everything from table runners to candle holders...I also did a cleansing for the house a few times to help remove the negative energy... If you have any suggestions for me send um my way =)

        • I think what you’ve done already is great.  I keep wanting to do a smudging with sage but I haven’t really taken the time to find anywhere to buy anything here.

Do you have anywhere you can store her old things? Maybe put them some place where you don’t go that often. That is if they aren’t things you need to use for the time being.
Or you can paint the walls and rearrange the furniture to suit your own taste. Build own energy around inside the space.
