This photo was taken two years ago at my 30 year class reunion. This is my old friend and ex-neighbor Vickie she and I grew up in the same neighborhood on the same street and went to the same elementary and high school and had classes together. We both came from large families with not a whole lot growing up. We both shared the same interest in music and fashion and of course boys at the time lol.

We even had the nerve the gall to call ourselves part of an all girl gang and they called us the “Sconey-Onies!” LOL, she and I still laugh about that to this day and she says some still call her that! Well life took a turn and my mom moved us from my childhood neighborhood in 1976 I was 16 and she and I lost contact. In the above photo is where we finally reunited outside of me going to her dads homegoing service which was our real first reunion.

Vickie and I were very close and we were like two peas in a pod lol. We both thought we were rough and tough, but on the inside we were like two scared little lost kittens lol, but our outer shells told a different story. We as life would have it both went our seperate ways and then with the reunion it brought us back together and boy did it feel good to finally be back with someone whom you can call a real true friend.
She has shared with me all her ups and downs of life and all the hardships she faced with others whom she thought were her friends, especially one certain individual whom will remain nameless, she was never my cup of tea, but for some reason Vickie held on to her. She was so jelaous of mine and her relationship, but knew NOT to dare try to step to me or between it!

Well as the stories were being told to me Vickie found that this person wasn’t her real friend at all. Vickie and I have shared a special bond that even my own sisters and I don’t have. She is a very sweet and caring person who just seemed not to get up on her feet like she wanted to and its ok! She is making do. Well I have had the pleasure of being a blessing to her since we’ve been reunited and I thank God that I could be there for her in her time of need.

She is very modest and will not go without thanking you for whatever it is you do for her. She is a no nonsense like me type person as well. She is family oriented and loves to cook again like me lol. Well after we have had a lot of time to re-connect it has been revealed to me in the spirit that she was and is to this day my real BFF!

She and her sister, has shared with me as well as Vickie’s daughter how much Vickie always spoke highly of me and how she missed me and enjoyed being around me. There was never anything bad said of me from her lips from what other has told me since our reunion she has always said great things about me and it made me feel really good to hear this coming from those around her. Even though I didn’t know her whole story, I just felt compelled to help her, she just moved into her own apartment after living with her son for a long while because of financial reasons and she had nothing so I blessed her with my old livingroom furniture as well as my old bedroom set.

I am also going to give her a few other things to help her get going in her new apartment. I know what it feels like to have to start over with nothing and not have a lot of resources at your feet especially when you don’t have a vehicle of your own to get around in. Well I feel that when God blesses us, he blesses us enough so that we may be a blessing to others and I know I am truly blessed and have much to give. Vickie and I love on each other when we‘re together we lift each other up in the spirit and we pray for each other. The only thing that bothers me is that she still surrounds herself around those who seem to be keeping her down, but she and God will have to work on that!

But at the end of the day I can say without reservations that she is my real BFF!

      Love it
