Look for the way of escape.  When we know Christ, temptation still comes; but God provides a way of escape. When we are tempted to give someone a piece of our mind; tempted to fall back into old habits and addictions; tempted go some place that we should not go, or do something that we should not do...God provides a way of escape. Look for your way out.

You're about to participate in a conversation, involving gossip, slander and judging. Just as you are opening your mouth, the telephone rings. What do you do? Do you take the way of escape and answer the telephone, or do you allow your voicemail to pick it up so you can take part in the ungodly discussion. This could be your way of escape.

You are getting dressed for the event, although you know that you shouldn't go. The people in attendance will be doing things that you shouldn't do and they will indulge in things you used to do.  Just as you are putting on your shoes, someone asks you to do them a favor. What do you do? Do you continue to prepare to go some place that you are sure you should not go?  Or do you take the way of escape by helping your friend in need?

And if we pretend that we don't recognize these types of situations as ways of escape, then remember this, Jesus is the Way. So when we know that something is wrong; when we know that we should not go there and we should not do that; when we know that we should not say that and we should not watch this.....then we know that Jesus is the Way. Call on Jesus, 'Pray without ceasing.'  Confess the Word, 'I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

God's Word (Jesus) is the Way out. When you want to hold a grudge, remember the Word, 'Love your enemies...do good to those who hate you...'  And remember, you have the Spirit of God dwelling on the inside of you. You have been given power over the enemy. We don't have to do what we used to do, because we have power to say 'no.'

Today, look for your way of escape. Look for your way out. Don't do anything that does not line up with God's Word. And if you don't know what to do, then pray until you hear something. If you don't hear anything, then don't do anything.

We no longer have excuses, but we do have a way of escape.

"No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it." I Corinthians 10:13 NIV

Love somebody today who doesn't love you; doesn't care about you; won't repay you, can't repay you and doesn't want to repay you...then you will be treating them the way God treated you...
