    • tongue outtongue out My old boss called me today. I was layed off April 4th. And they split my job into 4 other managers to save money.
He had the nerve to ask me if I would go train all of them in their assigned duties and I would be paid an hourly rate that here’s another kicker LESS than what I was making 2 weeks ago!!!
REALLY???? I was completely speechless and my mouth fell to the ground.
Let me get this straight:: you let me go due to realignment, I’m over( way over) the salary cap and the company is cutting costs , you divided my duties between four fairly new managers one of which wouldn’t let me get my things, and your asking me to come save your butt now so you look good to regional VP????
Pardon me why I piss my pants laughing!
I told him I’d think about it because I was afraid I’d say something really rude. The answer of course is no!!! Especially the added insult of less Money.
I don’t see this as cost effective if your having to have someone come back in and how could it be in the companies best interest to split duties up to less seasoned managers.
This is a riot and serves him right. He didn’t even have the respect to lay me off he made my best friend which held the position right above me and right below him.
      Son of a ..........!!!
I’m really pissed and I think insulted! I’ll call him Friday and tell him no but let him sweat a few days

Lol I mean really lol lmao lol I’m rolling here Neicy !!!

Conversation will go like this: George, while I want to thank you for the incredible offer to come back insulted with less pay I’m afraid at this point and time MY time is to valuable. While I’m sure Marty ( His boss) will understand why you let me go before you had capable people to replace me as you add to the payroll to do this.
          Have a nice day

It should be a Corp vm instead of the respect of a phone call but I can’t do that no matter how badly I want to!

Maybe he will learn you can’t always replace someone’s knowledge!!

Last year at tax time, the X had the nerve to get a friend to call me to ask if I would do the income & expense report for the accountant. I called the friend back a few days later and told him I wouldn’t. Some people have a lot of nerve!

        • Cris, actually thata doesn’t surprise me.  I got layed off from a job and I was the inside sales specialist for Teledyne.  My boss didn’t lay me off either, he had this girl that I couldn’t stand do it.  She told me in order for me to draw my unemployment that I would have to answer any questions they had about the line if they needed the help.  I just smiled and said “sure, no problem“.  Well I screened my calls and never picked up the phone when they called.  They couldn’t do that anyway’s because they lost the line and layed me off, not because of work ethics but again because they lost the line and still had a lot of stock in the analyzers.  What come’s around go’s around!

I guess what floors me is that he doesn’t see how insulting it is! And I know he is panic due to there is a huge conference in Vegas and for our section it always fell to me to do the presentation. Last 7 years. There is about 1200 people from all over U. S including all big wigs from corporate hm office.
Funnier yet over half of it is done here at home lol
But, this time I will bail no one out. It wasn’t the lay off I took personally , that’s business, it was that he didn’t have the balls to do it himself and made my best friend do it.
          That I TOOK personally!!
I think Friday about 5 is a nice time. Lol yes, I’m looking forward to it.
I wonder if he got this in his head when I saw him last and he carried all my things to car?????
Because I was civil? Did he think all was well? Probally ... Dumb ass of course I was civil you were caring all my stuff!!!!
          Lol
Have nice day George that’s all I can say sickly sweet of course

        • heart well, I called my old boss at 5:34 pm today. He answered on the first ring. Something he never did when I worked there and needed to speak to him.
This is George is how he answered..... Daaaaahhhhhh ok be nice Cris.
After I said hello it was Cris he practically interrupted me.
He fully thought I was calling to say I’d help.
He went straight into ” good you called so on Monday you ll be in Santa fe springs at 9 for 3 days and then to Garden grove for 3 days and then that up coming monday we have a meeting with Marty....”
Whoa big boy!!!! I interupted him and just to drag it out I said I don’t work Saturdays. He sputtered and said fine 2 days here 3 days here and went into the meeting again...
          Whoa again....
          I don’t work Fridays or Monday’s .
Silence..., then 3 days here then I need you at this meeting
WHOA!!!! George you haven’t even bothered to ask if I except? There was complete silence on the phone like he wasn’t going to ask... Which is his character he’s macho you see so I decided to save him because I had better things to do so I said
If you can afford 40.00 per hour at ten hoursperday 3 days a week , from 8 to 7 tues thru Thursday, paid as independent contractor and for every 15 min after 7 it’s 20.00 I’ll come help you.
But, since I know you can’t then I’m saying this isn’t worth my time. I’m sure since you had it all thought out before you laid me off then you have a back up plan to help you with this. It’s to bad a lot of it’s done here at home but I know you as being prepared as you are already have a plan for that too.
          Silence
So, thank you for the offer but we both know this is to save your ass only and if you truely were an upstanding boss you would have laid me off not have Patty do it. That was chicken crap and I lost respect for you then as I’ve explained to Marty before I called you. ( Marty is his boss and our conversation probally won’t help George come Monday )
I think your insulting and I wouldn’t help you now if Patty asked me.
Any questions? No. Have a nice day George .
          He said something muffled
          And I hung up.
I could hear his heart beat in his throat
Normally I’m not so rude but today he deserved every bit of it. Wish I could have got to him yesterday but I felt really bad I was in alot of pain.
So, there it is that’s how it’s ended.

          Lol
          Cris

How dare he think he can bring you back to train employees after kicking you to the curb like that? Something tells me he has enough balls to try and ask you again. That’s when you should answer the phone while holding your nose: “We‘re sorry, the number you have reached ... has been disconnected. No other information is available at this time.”

Manager due to the lack of well she sucked at even being just a manager with out any of my old duties!
I voice mailed my friend (Patty) and told her not to bother I DO NOT, repeat do not work there any longer you or George will have to do it. It’s your responsibility so do your jobs.
And then I ended with lunch next week?

In turn, I'll give you something to laugh about. In court on the 18th the X, through his attorney was pushing for allowing the X and a contractor of his choice to come in to inspect the house for damages, even going so far as to state a worry that my animals may be cause of damage. The judge allowed for the contractor but NOT the X, and it was to be set up through my attorney only. LOL, the X still tried to ask me that same day when was a good time for his contractor to come and I told him it has to be arranged through my attorney and he could get her phone # from his attorney.

          Hugs,
