      Tight Shoes

      Eph.6:11

Last Sunday I wore some high heel shoes for several
hours which I hadn't put on since last winter. I don't know what happened, - if they shrunk in my closet or my feet grew a lot, but, boy, were they tight! I managed to wriggle my feet in them with the help of a shoe horn, then walked around the house for a little bit, trying to break them in. I thought all would be manageable so off I went, tight
shoes squeezing my toes. As time wore on, so did my patience. Could the agony my feet were feeling put me in such a mood that coping was difficult for me? Seems hard to believe, but I think that was the case.

Jesus told us to put on shoes of peace as part of the armor of God. Now, I believe I wear my shoes of peace more often than I had my Sunday shoes, but sometimes even they become tight and uncomfortable. Do you ever feel that you are the only peacemaker in your entire family? Or being a peacemaker puts the squeeze on you and makes you suffer?
Perhaps wearing the shoes of peace brings ridicule to you... and that really hurts.

Wearing those shoes of peace is not always an easy job, but it is good protection against Satan, who would like conflict and disorder to reign.

If there are times being the peacemaker is uncomfortable or
difficult for you, remember, God has called us to walk in peace. He will provide you with whatever you need in this journey.
