A good tip for feeling young is to apply this same concept to your social life. Instead of keeping company exclusively with others of your same age, you can feel younger by putting some variety into your social calendar.

Make a real effort to join groups where younger people make up a healthy part of the membership. Whether it is a card group, golf pairings, a bowling league or a cruise , limiting yourself to an all seniors group all the time can sometimes make you feel older than you really are.

Surrounded by people who aren’t interested in action, challenge or trying something new, you may, without realizing it begin to adapt their lethargic habits and begin to age yourself. By pursuing more mixed company, you will find yourself stimulated by more lively conversations and activities and will find yourself feeling just a little bit younger and more vibrant.

Spend time with teens and children. Young people of all ages can really give seniors a lift. A great tip for feeling young then is simply to make a real effort to spend some of your free time with teens or children.

Taking yourself out of your home or apartment in good weather every day can help feel active and as a result feel young too. It doesn’t really matter where you go, just take yourself out.

Go to the store, the library, the movies, even your backyard. You don’t have to stay out all day. Just get out and do something. When you are outside of your home you will find yourself interacting with people , getting a change of scenery and maybe even a little exercise. Getting out provides the real potential for helping to improve your mood and really can make you feel young.

We all know that we have no control over our age. We are after all what we are, whether its 30 or 78. But we don’t have to FEEL like any particular number We do have the power to control to a certain degree how old we want to feel.
