The person you want to add as a friend are they already on fab40? if so click on their picture and hit the button add friend. You will have to wait for them to confirm or deny.

If you want to add a friend from your email list go to your dashboard on fab40 and click on the links to find friends or invite friends. It should be in the upper right side of screen.

You can link your blog however you need to be a premium member to post links. The cost is $40 per year and is very low cost if you are marketing something or want to take advantage of creating private groups or blogs on here.

I just joined a few days ago and am happily overwhelmed with all the information here. I’d love a few pointers for how you approach the site daily. Where to start? I find myself clicking and reading, clicking and reading, going deeper and deeper. I can easily lose myself and the day! Suggestions for getting the best use out of the site for a newbie?

I think everyone has their favorite way of doing it but here is mine.

I always check the home page 1st and respond to whatever catches my eye.
Then I move on to my dashboard (the more friends you have the more active your dashboard) and see what my friends are chatting about.
Then I usually check out the blog roll then all the questions.

If you have your settings set to email you when someone responds to something you made a comment on you could catch up on all the replies.... which is what I do.

And if I have time after that then I will check out the different groups, newsletters, columns.

Please keep this thread going for us newbies...it is very helpful. There is so much info on this site and so little time to explore. I appreciate the tips and hints.

Screen Names – we are on the WWW so if you don't want your business public give yourself a screen name and then you don't see all your posts and your profile when someone Googles you.
So be safe and sensible and give yourself a screen name.

And another question...is it possible to change your screen name once you have it set?

I know at 1 time we could do the stickies but I haven’t seen that in any new groups in awhile.

I have joined several groups on this site, but when I try to view those grps on by dashboard nothing shows up.  What am I doing wrong or not doing?

What is the “thumbs up” and “thumbs down” mean on a comment, and the pink box that gives +points?  Also I asked a question and had responses...and the “best Answere” button?  Am I supose to pick one...Just want to make sure my manners are right.

I am new and I happy this group was started. I especially love where you tell us how to check our site because I have been lost even on how to reply to things. I do have a question How do you just make a statement or a reply and does everyone see that or does only your friends see that. Do I have to start a blog or group for people to see what I write. Or do they only see it if you reply in a group. Can you please explain to me where I can write things where everyone can see them? Thank you!
