        • I have lost a lot of weight in a month. I wanted to but when I lose, my body doesn’t know when to stop. Does this happen anyone?

        • I used to be able to lose weight, keeping it off was always a problem, now I can’t even lose it.

And Leaann, how I wish I had a problem where my body didn’t know where to stop, just the opposite for me, it doesn’t know when to stop gaining.

Casper, how do you lose 20 lbs a month at our age, do share, because I’m ready...

Please no posts on how bad it is....I KNOW....never the less I just want to lose 20lbs. like NOW

        • Me, too! I used to have such a cute shape. I had a 22” waist when I was in my 20’s. Seems like now all my extra poundage has migrated to my stomach and my back but my butt and my legs are still thin. How’s that for a pretty picture? Yikes!

My mother says I have to accept it, I refuse. I’m very stubborn. This spare tire will be deflated but I just have to re-think my strategy. I promise if I come up with anything usable, I’ll share!

        • I just lost 10 lbs in 4 weeks. It is not a healthy loss, since it is too fast. But I had to do it for a family event (I needed to fit into the dress I bought). Anyway, here is what I did:
          1. Stopped eating after 7pm. No snacks, just tea with honey.
          2. Drank 8 and more glasses of water every day. Hard, but possible.
          3. Switched to fiber rich food (I felt full faster).
          4. Increased vegetables intake to 3 portions (1 portion is a cup) per day.
          5. Limited my snacks to 2 per day (and watched portions!).
          6. Eat, at least 3 times per day (a cup of soup and half turkey sandwich is a meal).

It helped me, but you, guys, might come up with other tips that help YOU. Please share if you do.

        • I have learned over the years, that having a short term goal such as ‘I need to lose 20lbs by x date’ is my problem.  Once I’ve lost the weight, what is the incentive to keep it off?

What is successful for me now, is to know in my heart that I need to make a life-long commitment to my health - and one part of that is being the right weight.

If you only eat healthily for a short time and then go back to your old habits you are destined to being in the same place again...needing to lose weight...sooner or later.

This doesn’t mean never eating the food that you crave/love again...it just means doing it in moderation and finding a system for weight release/maintenance that works for you...and sticking to it.

I’ve managed to keep 50lbs off for a year and am working on the next 50 (yes...that much!)  But I feel confident that the way I am doing it is sustainable for the rest of my life because it is a healthy but EASY (important for me) to do it.

        • You need to add muscle.....working out for at least 30 minutes a day, sculpting, weights or cardio.......the more muscle you have the more calories your body burns, eat a low fat 1500 calories a day diet.  Shouldn’t eat less than that, because the mistake we all make is starving our bodies and then our bodies go into starvation mode, and actually hang on to the fat....I know doesn’t make sense......but I ate 1000 calories a day worked out 7 days a week and I couldn’t lose, went up to 1500 calories a day, and started dropping right away...it also took me 6 to eight weeks to really see a difference.....my doctor said that is totally normal, and that most people give up before our bodies have a chance to make a turn around and get used to our new regime!
