Hi Ladies, seeing I’m in the mood of doing things around the place today I thought I’d surprise hubby and cook him something special. Today we will dine on Thin Sliced Center Cut Pork Loin smothered in Onion/Green Bell pepper Gravy, Steamed Brocolli, Home-made Mashed Potatoes, Cresent Dinner rolls, and for dessert he has Keylime pie I will be having a bit of Rainbow Sherbert. Seeing that I am still on meds I can’t have the wine/champagne of my choice, but of course those of you who know me lol, know it would have been some good ole, Moscato Champagne. So I’ll opt for a nice tall glass of lemon ice tea.happy

So ladies, what’s on your dinner menu for today!?happy

        • The Amish are known for many homestyle dishes, and this warm and comforting casserole is one of them. It’s so tasty, it’s no wonder it’s been passed down from generation to generation.

          Serves: 8

          Ingredients
          1 tablespoon olive oil
          1 medium onion, chopped
          1 pound ground beef
1 (16-ounce) package wide egg noodles
1 (10-3/4-ounce) can condensed tomato soup
1 (10-3/4-ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
          1 cup milk
          1 teaspoon salt
          1/2 teaspoon black pepper
          1/2 teaspoon paprika
          Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Coat a 3-quart casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray.

In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat and saute onion 2 to 3 minutes. Add ground beef and cook 4 to 6 minutes, or until browned.

In a large soup pot, cook noodles according to package directions; drain well and return noodles to pot. Stir in ground beef mixture and the remaining ingredients, except the paprika and mix well. Place into the prepared casserole dish and sprinkle with paprika.

Cover and bake 25 to 30 minutes, or until heated through.

I made it and my husband loved it but I didn’t care for it.  I had to leave out the onions because he detest onions and I think it would have given it a better flavor.  It was too bland.  AFter making it and tasting it I would have probably added a can of Rotel tomatoes instead of the tomato soup...and maybe a can of whole kernal corn or some other veggie.  I’ll make it again but I will change it up a bit.

        • Oh yum, I’m going to steal your turkey sandwich idea, Eva! ;oD

Angel... you can laugh at me but now and then I do want a hot dog sandwich for dinner. I heat up a cast iron frying pan and roll the hot dog across it back & forth with a fork. And I like a bit of mayo, mustard and sweet pickle relish on it. I don’t buy hot dog buns because they don’t freeze well, so a piece of toast cradles all these delicious flavors together. Yum!
