      Hi Ladies,

FORGIVE ME!!! I thought this was our July selection.  My brain just zapped out on this one.  So lets start the discussion.  Tell us how you felt about the book.  August book selections are going to be listed in a separate posting.

      Thank!

      Lynn

        • Absolutely LOVED IT!!!!  What a great read.  I have already gone out and read 2 more of Sophie’s books - Confessions of a Shopaholic, and Shopaholic Takes Manhattan.

I am always pleased with the books you choose!

        • I just loved this book.  You can ever feel yourself pulling for her, especially with the lack of love and support from her mother - only wanting her to become a lawyer like herself!  How about what SHE wanted, not her mother or her family!  I just laughed at how much she didn’t know about anything in the kitchen or keeping a house clean!  What a riot!  Must be nice to have so much money that when you screw up, you just call someone to replace/repair it.

Would definitely recommend to others to read, in fact, already have.

        • I too enjoyed her style, but had never read her before.  So I decided to go read Confessions of a Shopoholic, then I enjoyed it and read Shopoholic Takes Manhattan.  It got a bit redundant, but the end of the second one was worth it.

She also goes by a second authors name, I’ll try to find it for you.

I could relate with wanting to run and hide, but I’m not sure I have the same type of strength she had to keep her head up and continue on.

I truly enjoy the books that have been suggested, especially since I had never heard of them before.  Thanks for all the great suggestions.

Looking forward to Painting the Invisible Man.

          Stephanie

        • I really need to check in more often!  I enjoyed the Undomestic Goddess, but I haven’t gotten around to reading any of her other books yet; under either of her pen names.  It’s on my endless list of things to do, though!
