      Unquestioned Laws

As I looked out my window this beautiful spring-like Sunday, I came to
realize there are certain constants - or certainties - in the world
about me. Laws placed into effect when God first created our universe.

For instance, the Law of Gravity. Since the dawn of creation it has been
a constant fact that objects projected into the air, as long as they
remain within the atmosphere of our planet, will return to earth. There
has never been one millisecond that this law has not been into effect.

And there are countless other laws that God has set into motion that are
never-changing. When two dogs mate, they have a litter of dogs. Never in
recorded history have they produced a herd of elephants or anything else
      other than dogs.

Laws of physics, laws of mathematics—all established by God at the
dawn of creation and never changed.

      And man never questions them.

Yet this same God has told us “I am God“, that there are no other gods
before Him and that the only way to Him is through His Son, Jesus

And man constantly tinkers with this equation.

We would be told by some that God is tolerant, that we can meet Him on
      our terms rather than His.

Yet such will never be the case. Take for instance the story of a glass
of water. This same glass of water will boil at 212 degrees Fahrenheit
or freeze at 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

And how we have tried to delude this glass of water. We tell it that
although its temperature is only 211 degrees, because of the temperature
humidity index that it seems to be much hotter than the actual 211
degrees. But the water is not deceived, and it will never boil unless we
raise its temperature a single degree.

We chill this same glass of water to 33 degrees and tell it because of
the wind chill factor it seems much colder than it really is. But again,
it is not deceived and unless we lower its temperature at least one more
      degree, it will never freeze.

Oh Lord, grant me the ability to surrender my life and submit it to Your
will until it is no longer recognizable as mine, but Yours.

And each day, please grant me the same wisdom and understanding You have
granted a single glass of water.
