I tried to post a pic but unfortunately was not able to. I will keep trying tho.

My goal is to be able to get rid of my loose in the middle tankini and get one that is a bit more curve showing. And of course since summer is coming I want my arms to look good while going sleeveless.

I will be attempting this by a series of mini 21 day challenges, Annie’s 1 day challenges, diet and exercise.

Tomorrow is the big day and I am ready to start. I am a little nervouse about going gluten free for 21 days but it is only 21 days after all.
I also will be working my core daily and up-ing how many reps I do on my upper body workouts.

          Whew!

        • Vikki, gluten free isn’t too difficult.  I had to do gluten free for health reasons and I’m finding that I eat so much better.  There are plenty of foods out there that are gluten free now.  If you crave sweets you can always find cookies, chocolate and frozen goodies (like ice cream) to help your sweet tooth).  I am lactose and soy intolerant too and found some great frozen treats made from coconut milk.

I’m with you about working my core daily and increasing the reps for arms.  Can’t wait to see the difference.  One more day!

        • Gluten free is not a big deal.  I too have done gluten free for health reason and as long as you‘re not addicted to white bread or donuts, it’s not so bad.

I use a lot of my same recipes for baking and just substitute different gluten free flours.  I’ve become a big fan of buckwheat pancakes.  (Buckwheat is no actual relation to wheat and is gluten free.)

        • LOL! Ok so I’m a geek......

So I began a couple things on 2/1. Apersonal challenge for me over the next 21 days to cut down and/or eliminate gluten from my diet. I can say that I did 2 meals yesterday without any gluten. It’s a hard thing to do when you‘re a hardcore carbivore like me. That was one of the things I noticed when I first started to track my food intake was how many carbs I eat. I think I am making the gluten free harder than it needs to be. Can’t I just replace my carbs with more veggies? Wouldn’t that also be closer to eating clean as well? Well today is Day2 of that 21 day challenge.... we will see how it goes.
I also have started a challenge with the ladies from Fab 40 called The Summer Challenge. This challenge goes from 2/1 thru 5/31 and the goal is to be able to wear something you want to look good in. My pick was to look good in a tankini and have less jiggle to my arms. I am hoping that by the time I am ready to expose my jiggle-less arms I can also do push ups without being on my knees.

I am looking forwards to every day of this challenge because not only am I challenging my body I am challenging my willpower and my mind. Afterall isn’t it our willpower and our minds that cause the problems with our body???

          I will SUCCEED!!!!

My motivation is that trip I am planning this summer...I want to be in nice shape and look and feel good while I am travelling...happy

          This is good!

          jump rope
          step ups
          crunches
          pushups

Which will be compared to last months fitness test.

I am averaging about 1400 calories in per day and burning about 700 per cardio days. The calorie burn does not include any core, strength or yoga activities.

All I can say is this middle crap is hard to get rid of.....

Since the challenge started, I have noticed that when I eat certain foods that I don’t feel well. I haven’t had a salad in two days and now that is all I am craving. I am finding it really interesting what foods that I react poorly to.

How is your personal trainer going?

She suggested I follow a mediterranian diet..... I’m pretty close to that anyways and when she reviewed my food journal....(I took it with me along with my starting measurements and my workout history for the past 6 mos) and said I was on the right track....woohoo!

        • Keep it up! I am glad that you didn’t have to be started in meds! What a great doc to suggest a mediteranean diet. You might like this quick salad.

          Mediteranean Salad
          1 can chick peas
          1 can artichoke hearts, drained
          1 large package of tuna

Combine above and place whatever amount you want on a bed of your favorite letuce mix. Top with a light greek dressing or vinagrette. You can also garnish with olives.

The mixture can be kept in the fridge for a few days.

I can’t say that I’ve lost much yet. But I do feel great now that I’m working out with pilates. I think maybe I’m starting to tone up because I’m really sore. At least that’s what I hope it means.

Last week or so, I tried on my tankini and I’m not feeling too bad about it!! YEAH!  And, I’m totally surprised tongue out

It is one that actually meets the bottom piece, so that’s definitely a good thing!

I do have a one piece too, but of course I prefer the tankini.

Let’s not even talk about what I call, “my grandmother’s arms‘.  Working on them too.

If you’ve read my blog, I’ve started with the exercise and even though I haven’t actually written about it, I am working on the foods too.

          Let’s rock-n-roll, ladies!
