    • Hi, I use to know how to dress for work. I’m senior management to simplify. I am a tall person at 6‘3 1/2” and I was overwieght to put it mildly. I have lost 53 lbs feeling great still need some tone up work but now I am at a loss for how to dress. I mean I have NO idea. I still feel frumpy when I shop for work but when I shop for play time its so fun. But none of that can b worn at work except the company picnic and maybe when traveling on the plane. Any thoughts?

        • Hi Chrisastbury4,

Shopping can be fun even for work clothes. Congrats on losing so much weightestatic

You have a new body and a new attitude so think positive, I know your tall and some times it gets a bit harder to find pants. Do you wear a lot of dresses or skirts?
What colors do you wear?  You have to re invent your self so go for that spark that is inside you!

Please keep me updated.  Go through the internet and find the new styles out there for Management..

          Have fun shopping!!

          Hugz,
          MaryAnne

I’m a big fan of black slacks or skirts with white blouses (brooks brothers are the best expensive but worth it) or other appropriate colored blouses. I also wear most things in 3’s. Slacks, blouse, with sweater, cami or jacket. To spruce up the basics I add colorful scarves and/or jewelry. I also add flair thru my shoes. Being as tall as you are I’m not sure if you wear heels but there is also  great flats too.

Now I would probably suggest that you go get a peddicure to help you FEEL better. And I would also suggest going to a makeup counter to get some tips n tricks on taking out any frumpy looks.

Let us know how it goes and what ends up working for you!

        • WOW!  What a wonderful problem to have!  Congratulations.  I am also pretty tall - 6’ w/o shoes.  I have also lost over 50lbs and went through the same challenge!

I found that the most important thing was to find what made me comfortable.  I tend toward dresses in the summer so I bought (or was given!) long skirts that I paired with blouses or dresses that were light & feminine with summer jackets & knit ‘shrugs‘.

I also bought myself a nice denim jacket (girlie-cut) which pairs nicely with dresses & summer pants when you are heading out on the airplane.

I LOVE www.softsurroundingsoutlet.com for tall dresses & skirts which are very feminine and LONG!  I also found some great pants there which were just long enough for my 36” inseam.

Congratulations again and enjoy the ‘new you‘!

        • heartheartheartheartestatic you ladies are sloop amazing and supportive! !!“!!!! I feel so lucky to have found this site quite by accident. Lol. I love all your input and I really can’t say thanks enough. I have always loved being tall and I do hate to let this outthere but I hate shopping for clothes for me. I love shopping just not for me.
How I did it was get off my butt no more excuses even when I travel for work and I totally changed my eating habits except on Sunday those are free day!!!lol and I am going to look up those sites. And yes having a pedicure is one of my selfish pleasures. But,the makeup counter is a smashing idea.
Also, have a meeting/dinner with the vp of my co.
Keep in mind over 4600 stores I will tomorrow. Xxxxxxc
