I love to go to the Detroit zoo, and visit the museums in downtown Detroit, I also like going cruising in downtown Detroit so many cultures there. I enjoy visiting Frankenmuth and one day I’ll make it to Mackinaw Island.

Also enjoyed touring a couple wineries.

You folks live in a great state!

        • Greenfield Village and Henry Ford Museum would definitely top my list.

Frankenmuth, Traverse City and Makinac Island are also great destinations.

We live in Ann Arbor, so we visit the Metro Parks like Hudson Mills.

Cabela’s in Dundee is one of our favorite places, too.

        • Medgel, to be honest, I hate downtown Detroit, been here all my life and i hate the crowdedness of it all, yes it is a nice place togo for dining, hanging out but its just not for me, I like hanging out in Birmingham, Farmington, and parts of Pontiac.

        • I’m from Michigan originally. Born in Flint!

My husband and I are taking a road trip to Michigan on our vacation in May. Of course, since we‘re driving we we’ll only be spending 4 days there, but we‘re going to pack in as much as we can. I still have a lot of family there.

I loved Mackinac Island and Frankenmuth.

        • If we can do a FabDay in Michigan, that would be awesome!!

My dad and brother live just outside of Owosso, and my cousins are in Chesaning (we‘re talking small towns here).

My step-daughter is trying to move to Ypsilanti in March if she can secure a job up there, so we may be in that area (briefly!) too.

We’ve actually planned the trip, since we‘re driving, to be able to do Memphis on both legs... Graceland on the way north and Beale Street on the way back.

I’ll definitely keep y‘all in the loop as we get closer to our trip to see if we can work it out!

        • Actually  Owosso is west of Flint.  Unfortunately, due to very high unemployment—Flint is at more than 12%—most of the cities are being deserted and definitely deteriorating in quality of life and in upkeep of them.  There are a few areas which are not so dependent on the auto industry that are trying to get through this depression.  I was born and raised in Flint—now stuck in Saginaw.  This state has lovely scenery, but the cities are all going to ruin.  Jennifer has big plans to turn it into the “green” state with 50% dependence on alternative energy by 2020....she had a very interesting state of the state speech.
