        • Being home these past weeks made me realize I need to live in the moment more.

I was so damn busy before my surgery that I never slowed down just to enjoy life. Well being home made me realize I need to slow it down and smell the roses.

For 2009 that is what I am going to do, live in the moment and slow it down.

        • Good for you leadinglady!! We all need to remember that only this moment is real..the past is gone and the future isn’t here yet. You can only be productive in this moment.

In the coming year I want to use each moment to work toward where I want to be in the next two years.

        • There are a few changes I would like to transpire in my life, I will however, make the plans and do all that is necessary to make the change come about, but I will allow God to decide which one(s) is/are His Will.

        • Teeky, I think we are all guilty in some way of that...I know I am sometimes, only yesterday while having a talk with my son, I realized that I was doing that, so I apologize and we moved on.  It’s a hard road that one

        • One more thing, I am committing myself to getting more sleep. I also realized being home that I was not getting enough rest. No wonder I felt like crap most of the time.

I was getting 5 hrs, but I need to increase that 7 to 8 hrs when I go back to work.

        • I’m going to focus on my goals and my big change will be to change me ! I feel wrong with weight and lifestyle and it’s only me that can change that so 2009 will see the butterfly emerge from the cocoon...

        • I want to seriously work on the things that are important to me. For too long I have pushed my own dreams into the background out of fear of failure. I would start something, get good at it and then stop, fear taking over.
I must learn to vanquish my demons and get on with it! Life is far too short.

        • That is great, Vicki! I have to learn to do that.
I love to bake and I’m good at it. In California I had a small baking business and had a devoted customer base.
Then I moved to Louisiana and I have been lost ever since. I just don’t know where to start.
And I live in a small town that is just ripe for something new.
But I am determined to change this fear I have into something positive. 2009 will be my year.

        • Inakika I had a very successful sportswear retail business which I built up from scratch starting it while at college – I  left it when became ill and had a year off during my treatment and then for 2 years I floundered. It was a friend who made me buck down and think of what I'm doing now as I knew I couldn't go back and start up retailing again ...... with my last business I took it to the London Stock exchange and made it a household name and it was the thought of failure if I tried it the second time round that stopped me .....so I now PR fashion and sportswear so same game but different angle. My daughter has her own sportswear business at 22 with 15 shops – she is a chip of the old block .......so get your cookery books out and use the internet – test the market.

        • I will do that, Vicki. I must. I’ve always been told by my mom that if God gives you a talent and you don’t use it, you may lose it.
I’m going to start by baking treats for my husbands company party Monday evening. He is my biggest fan and he came home this afternoon and “mentioned” that they are soliciting contributions for the buffet. How could I say no? LOL!
The last time I did that I went home with orders, that’s sort of how my business started. I’m so excited! estatic

        • Ingrid, that little monster as Vickday refers to it, “fear” makes us loose out on our dreams.  I know you will do it girl, and I will be your biggest taste critic...LOL

        • LOL! Thank you Jacquie. Once I get set up, I’m going to make sure to send treats to all my sisters, no matter how long it takes!
