      Hi,

I would love to get to know more about what you all do as a business, if you have one.  Can you let me know what type of home business you do?

Or, if you don’t have one, would you like one?  What’s holding you back?

I look forward to hearing your comments.

        • Hi Lauria

There’s a business directory started by our member, Chinadoll. It’s a very nice listing. If you have a business you can list it there, if you‘re looking for something, you can use it as a resource to buy from a fab40 member if you’d like.

Go to the groups and the careeer section and there’s all kinds of good stuff there!

        • Annie,
I did that once too. frown
I am now at home, but it wasn’t because of my own leap of faith. In a nutshell when we had the technology that drives M-tech introduced to us, I was excited to see the benefits in my own family but when my friend suggested that I look at it as a business so I wouldn’t have to work out of the home anymore, I just laughed. I was making way too much money to walk away. I told her (imagine my life working, homeschooling, etc) sorry but I didn’t have time to exhale, much less add more to my plate. In less than two weeks God was less gentle with his nudging. My job was dissolved. I could no longer work the hours I worked or work any hours from home. I didn’t think it was a coincidence, and am so thankful now that I was pushed passed that threshold. I never would have done it on my own.
I can’t say that it has been easy, but I love what I do. It is so rewarding that I’d do it even if I didn’t get paid. Of course, I’d have to find some other way to help bring $$ in to support all my expensive hobbies (horses & goats)

          Laurie,
I am a wellness consultant and weight loss coach, and because of the economy find myself sharing more and more with people about how they can financially improve their quality of life as well. My company just introduced an incredible Economic Stiumulus plan that makes the playing field level and gives people an opportunity to live the life of their dreams... and all with a risk free trial period. This is not “my” site, and you can join from here, but this site has information about the new plan - www.mannatecheconomicstimulus.com I am so excited about this new plan. Inevitably when I talk to someone about improving their quality of life in a physical sense, finances are a part of the equation. This is a total solution package! I love the company because of the culture of caring that exists. The founders ‘birthed’ the company as a result of a prayer group, and have developed a ministry that is changing the lives of children all over the world. www.mannarelief.org

        • Thanks all of you for your comments.  I love hearing about what others are doing, especially if they love doing it!  That’s how I feel too, happymom - I think I“d continue to do this even if I didn’t make money at it.

Chocolatier - I can’t seem to find that business directory.  Is it located under “groups” or “career“?

        • Hi Fabulous Ones,

I’ve recently discovered a home business that I’m over the moon about!

Currently, I have a company “Manifesting Your Beloved, that helps women attract a healthy Beloved relationship by learning to first love themselves. And what I’ve found is that many women who are learning to receive more love are also needing to receive more financial well-being.

So I’m so happy that this company has come onto my radar.

If you shop on-line and would like to save money on virtually
any purchase you make and at the same time make money,
while also supporting green products then I think you’ll be amazed like I was.

I’d love to invite any of you who are interested in finding out more to a tele-presentation I’m hosting TOMORROW NIGHT THURSDAY January 29, 2009 at 7pm Pacific Standard Time.

I’ve never seen something that is this simple,
brilliant, well executed, and has already provided
abundance for many AND at the same time has
          enormous untapped market potential.

PLEASE RSVP by email as there are a limited number of
bridgelines. Just shoot me an email at:

        • For many years I worked diligently to establish myself as a jewelry artist/ crafter. Jewelry-making is a passion of mine that I WISH I could do on a full time basis.  I’ve done various shows, wholesaled to retail stores, retailed, offered a percentage to charities that would include my work in their catalogs and more . . . my strategies were endless . . . And still NO LUCK as it’s a competitive world!

I’ve sold a myriad of my creations, but not enough to live on.  Art is my true passion and will always be.  Surely, I’m not happy getting up in the wee hours in the morning working at a job that I’m not truly happy with, but I am very grateful that I DO have a job and am able to pay my bills and other necessities.

I will continue to pursue my dream as long as I’m living!  It’s nice to know that so many members have their own home businesses which is truly inspiring.  So many jewelry designers in the site—it’s great!  We all have our own style and that what makes it so unique.

        • Hi Maverick,

Thanks for sharing.  It can sometimes take quite some time to get to a full-time income from our passion, I know I have not done that yet.  Probably one of the reasons I don’t is that I don’t “have” tohappy Although, it would be great if my husband could retire and we could move somewhere warm.  That is one of our desires to do.  Who knows?

It IS great that you still have a job and can still pursue your passion part-time.  Keep at it!

          Blessings,
          Laurie

You have an awesome career!  In fact, that is what I wanted to do straight out of high school.  My parents did not approve, and I gave up on my dream.  I shouldn’t have  pursued anyway, however, I discovered a new love . . . jewelry making.

You‘re making an effort and that’s whats important. Do not become discouraged, as I know it’s very easy to do.  Work hard and it’ll pay off.  Unfortunately, the economy is gettng in the way of a lot of things. I wish you well.

        • Bernadette,

Yes, I know marketing can be a little “daunting.”

How much traffic do you get to your site?  Do you know if it ranks well on Google?

There are things you can do to get your site ranked highly in the search engines, which can bring you some free traffic.  Maybe your hosting company helps you with this?  If not, I“d be happy to recommend a free course I have taken which is EXCELLENT.  You would need to work on your site each day a little, and the course takes about three weeks to complete.

Let me know if you’d like the link.

        • Hey Laurie,
My husband and I have a very successful ACN business! We offer all wireless carriers,
Dish TV, Direct TV, ADT Home Security, long distance and internet service. Basically we can meet most of everyone’s technology needs. Our company’s VIDEO PHONE will be featured on this season’s APPRENTICE with Donald Trump. Donald Trump is a spokes person for our company. It is very exciting and I’m sure our business will explode after the feature with Donald Trump on March 22. If you would like to know more please send me a private message with your email. This business may not be for you, but you may know someone for which it would be a good fit.

          Blessings,
          Diana

        • Hi Laurie,

I have been working in the restaurant business for 20 years and have loved the daily challenges, working with a wide variety of people and have never really complained about my job till now.  I had a boss and mentor for 25 years who taught me everything I know in the business and he retired a couple of years ago and I was able to move up in my position.  The problem is all the new politics and the amount of hours I am now expected to put in with a new structure and new VP’s.  It was taking a toll on my health and well being and my time with my family.

I started Beauticontrol in January with urging from my sister and have come to love the product, doing spas and meeting a lot of women who I am able to share my business with and who enjoy the spas and I am once again feeling like myself.  I am helping others feel good about themselves too which is a plus with this business.  I hope to be able to succeed in this new business and get out of the restaurant world soon.

If there is anything I can do to help you or others out just let me know.  Have a great SPA day!

          Carol
